Today's spotlight is on one of our newest case managers ✨ Joshua Zavala ✨ (Welcome to the team!) A fun fact about Joshua is that he used to coach basketball in high school. His major is in Admin Justice and attended Estrella Mountain Community College for school. One thing he loves about working at the Y is that he gets to connect with the youth in the community. In addition, Joshua loves sports and music, he is fluent in Spanish, and loves being able to help others.

Today's spotlight is on ✨Stephanie Ledezma✨
Stephanie is one of our program case managers and a fun fact about her is that she has an extensive knowledge of anime songs. She has a Bachelor in Social work and got her degree from Arizona State University. One thing she loves about working at the YMCA is that gets to learn about the people she meets and hearing their stories which allows her the opportunity to better help with goal setting and goal achievement.

Today's spotlight is on ✨Josh Rogala✨. Josh is our Director of Job Development. A fun fact about Josh is that he likes to exercise, watch sports (GO Cardinals!) and produce music. Josh's major is in Exercise Physiology, and he got his degree from Northern Arizona University. Something he loves about working for the YMCA is that he can support others to believe in themselves and their communities.

Todays spotlight is on ✨Nicol Pace✨
A fun fact about Nicol is that she loves to journal, shop and motivate others to be the best that they can be. Nicol's major is in Child Development and she got her degree from La Verne University. One thing that Nicol loves about working at the YMCA is the ability to change lives while doing something that she loves... teaching and mentoring. Nicol loves that at the YMCA at Maryvale we are not only co workers but we are a family too. We support and help each other.

Congratulations to Giselle Lopez for attaining her certificate of completion from Providence Institute as a Certified Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist. She recently passed her state exam as a phlebotomist. She is currently preparing for the CMA exam and has the full support of her case manager, Jemimah. Shoutout out to Jemimah for helping Giselle achieve her educational goals! 🥳👩‍🎓

Today's spotlight is on ✨Estevan Romero✨, one of our Youth Case Managers. A fun fact about Estevan is that he was voted class clown in middle school. His major is in international relations, and he got his major from University of Arizona. One thing Estevan loves about the YMCA is that he gets the opportunity to be a changemaker in Phoenix. Estevan is also our Community Action Team Lead and he is looking forward to working with staff and youth CAT volunteers to come up with initiatives to lift Maryvale and West Phoenix.

A fun fact about Zinnia is that she loves Volkswagen buses. Her major was in Criminal Justice Studies, and she got her degree from Grand Canyon University. One thing she loves about working at the YMCA is that she gets to help youth who have been in the same shoes she has been in.

A fun fact about Jemimah is that her favorite show is The Office and has lost count of how many times she has binged watched it. Her major is in educational studies, and she received her degree from Arizona State University. Something she loves about her job is that she gets to work with the people with the same background as her and is able to help a community who is just like her.

A fun fact about Marcos is that he loves to cook but still learning. He obtained his Bachelor's in Communication from Arizona State University and his Master's in teaching writing from Johns Hopkins University. Something that he loves about working at the YMCA is inspiring people to pursue their goals.

Today's spotlight us on our ASU Social Work Interns: ✨Narali Adame, Victor Chavez, Paola Salas Uribe, Cecilia Armendarez ✨ A couple fun facts about the interns are that Narali is scared of clowns, Victor is a professional juggler, Paola loved penguins as child, and Cecilia has never broken a bone. All interns are majoring in social work at Arizona State University. Paola is double majoring in Social Work & Criminology and Criminal Justice. One thing they love about the YMCA is that they are able to build lasting relationships with the community.
