One Hundred Above

Oh dear, look at this old beautiful, two-month old Hawaiian 787-9 Dreamliner.

Three years after taking the longest donestic US flight on Hawaiian Airlines, from Boston to Honolulu, today I flew the shortest one, on Alaska Airlines, from Wrangell (WRG) to Petersburg (PSG) Alaska and back. I walked into town in Petersburg, had lunch and walked back to the airport to return home to DC.

I’m really excited to be going home to meet my new niece Faith Lily Yu, a name I had a role in choosing. She was supposed to be born today, but we’re still waiting. Yes, her initials will be FLY. I will also be flying the longest and newest wide body I’ve ever been in. And this after a great afternoon spotting in Atlanta and visiting the Delta Flight Heritage Center and Museum.

Just had an amazing 30-hour trip to Denver for less than $130 including the hotel thanks to Frontier amazing low fares. If you can travel with a small backpack and don’t care where you sit, Frontier is amazing. I didn’t know it when I took this picture, but this F9 A320, with tail No. N372FR was going to be my aircraft to DCA this afternoon. I ❤️ this city and this airport.

As the COVID ban from EU countries and others was lifted this week, airports across the country were celebrating as well. This A330 from Frankfurt is the first Lufthansa flight to arrive (Tuesday, November 9th) in Philadelphia, with European travelers.

This time is not Georgia, but Delta who is on my mind as this cutie pie Airbus A319 from Salt Lake City arrives in Philadelphia past the iconic checkered fuel farm.
