Throwback Thursday! … or should I caption this, Throw Up Thursday? 🤣🫣

This popped up in my memories and I can still feel this exact moment. The worrying. The guessing games. The constant “is this normal?”And of course… the outfit changes. For both of us!

Yes, I laughed through the spit up.
But behind the double peace sign was a very worried, very new mom.

If you’re in it right now—consider this a hug.
It does get easier. (And cleaner. Eventually.)

Until then: lean in, laugh when you can, and keep a burp cloth within arm’s reach. (Or in my case, physically on your body at all times) 😂

And if you need a laugh that feels a little too real, But Then I Spit Up has your name on it.
Available on Amazon and at local Philly vendors. 🤍

Scenes for Sunday 📖

You wave hello…
and then — oops, too late…..🤷🏻‍♀️

Some moments don’t give you time to react.
They just unfold right in front of you. 😅

Even when you see it coming, you’re not always fast enough. 🏃‍♀️

So, what do us moms do? We keep on waving to the cars going by… like everything’s totally fine! 👋

Because even the messy moments are part of the story. 🚗

Scenes for Sunday 📖

Drip… drip… drip…

And just like that… down goes outfit #1 of the day. 👕

Not every motherhood moment is loud and chaotic. Some sneak up on you — one slow drip at a time. 🫟

Always expect the unexpected… especially when things seem calm. 🧘🏻‍♀️

Plus, we love a spontaneous outfit change around here. Nothing like a mid-morning fashion show! 😅

Because even on the messiest days, it’s still all done with love. 💛

Scenes for Sunday 📖

“Good morning, sweet boy!”

And just like that… the day begins. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some days in motherhood don’t start the way you anticipate. The sweetest moments can turn messy in seconds. 🍼

Start with love — and maybe a precautionary burp cloth. 😂

Because when you wake up to your baby’s beautiful smile, even the little frustrations seem to disappear. 💛

Today I had the absolute pleasure of donating copies of our story to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Pediatric ICU. 💚

A little back story, our son Richie was hospitalized at the CHOP PICU back in November with aspiration pneumonia. It was the worst week of our lives, to say the least. Once we were discharged and our son was better, we were left in awe of the staff. They are the most talented and selfless group of nurses and physicians that we’d ever had the opportunity to meet. They cared for our son like their own. His care was absolutely exceptional. I will never forget the genuine kindness and reassurance that they showed to our family during such a scary time to be parents. 🩺

Our story was still a work in progress during this time as I was finishing up last details. Ever since it has been published, I had been eager to give back to the unit that cared for our son so closely. Thank you Shirelle for allowing me the opportunity to have so many families read our story. My hope is that it will bring families together for laughs in the most vulnerable of times. It makes me emotional just to think about. I am beyond grateful. 🥹

It has meant everything to me to give back to CHOP and the PICU. They healed this mommy’s heart. ❤️‍🩹

Loving this new chat caricature trend! It allows me to take a moment to introduce myself!
About the Author: 💬
Hi, I’m Danielle. 👋 For those that are new here, I’m a Philly girl, New Mom, New Author, CT Tech by day … and professional burp cloth carrier by night.

My story “But Then I Spit Up” was inspired completely by my son Richie, and the wonderfully exhausting chaos of raising a tiny human. Written for babies, relatable for parents. 💁🏻‍♀️

Some free parenting advice that I learned along the way that I love to share, is that you’re never alone, learn to find laughs in the chaos, and always pack extra burp cloths. Always. 🍼

“But Then I Spit Up” is available on Amazon! Papercover, Hardback, and E Book! Also in select Philly local stores. Follow along for where to spot our story! 🤍
