Now I notice:
👄 Open-mouth posture
👅 Low tongue posture
😴 Snoring
💧 Dry lips
🦷 Crowded teeth
😮 Mouth breathing
Restless sleep isn’t always “just a phase.” Mouth breathing, snoring, teeth grinding, and restless sleep can all be clues that deserve attention. Awareness is the first step.
👅 Tongue clicks
This exercise may be helpful for people who:
✅ Have low tongue posture
✅ Need to improve tongue awareness
✅ Are working on tongue strength and coordination
Remember: exercises should be matched to your specific needs. The right exercise for one person may not be the right one for someone else.
What exercise do you want me to explain next?
Your child isn’t just tired… they may be sleep deprived.” 😳
One of the hardest conversations I have is when a parent says,
“But they sleep more than 8 hours every night.”
The number of hours asleep isn’t the whole story.
If your child snores, breathes through their mouth, wakes up frequently, or isn’t getting restorative sleep, they can still wake up exhausted despite spending enough time in bed.
That’s why looking at sleep quality is just as important as sleep quantity.
If your child is always tired, it’s worth bringing these concerns up with their pediatrician or a qualified sleep specialist.
One sign of an airway issue parents miss
Not having space in between baby teeth
I can often tell someone is a mouth breather before they even say a word. 👀
Sometimes I notice:
👄 Lips resting open
👅 Low tongue posture
😮 Mouth breathing at rest
💧 Dry or chapped lips
😴 Dark circles or signs of poor-quality sleep
None of these signs alone mean someone is a mouth breather, but together they can paint a bigger picture.
As a dental hygienist and myofunctional therapist, I’ve learned that your mouth can tell a story long before you speak.
Have you ever noticed these signs in yourself or your child? 👇
My goal is simple: to help families ask better questions, understand oral function, and support healthier breathing and sleep.
If you’ve been following my journey, thank you for your encouragement. It truly means the world to me.
If you know a family dealing with mouth breathing, snoring, restless sleep, messy eating, or other oral function concerns, I’d be grateful if you shared my website with them.
