I was happy to present a citation to Mrs. Rosemary Timoney and the Timoney Irish Dancers before their spring recital this past Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Flaherty Council 3128 in Glenside.
After moving to the United States from Ireland when she was young, Mrs. Timoney dedicated her life to the dance art of her homeland and opened Timoney Irish Dancers where she and her other dance teachers have been teaching Irish dance for 60 years.
Sunday was Mrs. Timoney's birthday and it was a special honor to present her with the acknowledgement on such a wonderful occasion. Happy Birthday Mrs. Timoney and congratulations on 60 years of Timoney Irish Dancers.

Last week I joined my colleagues from local, county, state and federal government along with community members and our host, SPS Technologies, to officially break ground on their new state of the art facility on the same grounds as the building that burnt down in Glenside.
It is hard to believe that a little over a year ago we were handling the immediate aftermath of this devastating fire. SPS Technologies could have built their new building elsewhere, leaving behind only a memory of the factory that has been a part of the community for 123 years, but they decided to stay, rebuild and give back.
I look forward to seeing all of the progress and to return again for a ribbon cutting and tour once complete.
You can visit their website at https://www.spsupdates.com/ to see the site plans and receive rebuilding updates.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As we wrap up on this time of international recognition, we need to make sure to point out that mental health support should be an everyday occurrence that doesn't end because of a calendar date. It’s important to break the silence, challenge stigma and remind ourselves that taking care of our mental health is just as important as physical health.
Whether you’re managing your own mental health, supporting a loved one or advocating for better care in your community – remember that you are not alone. Help is always available. Anyone experiencing any type of mental health crisis can call or text 9-8-8 to talk with a trained mental health professional 24/7.

SEPTA’s in-house forces will perform full-depth renewal of the Mt. Carmel Avenue grade crossing. Crews will be removing the existing crossing surface as well as worn ties and rails through the roadway. Throughout the weekend, SEPTA will reconstruct the grade crossing with a new asphalt surface and install new ties and rails. The grade crossing and the approaches will be milled and paved before reopening the road to service. The new grade crossing will provide a smoother ride across the tracks and provide a new surface free of any cracks and potholes.

I joined Governor Josh Shapiro and Senator Maria Collett at the local Fort Washington Elementary School in the Upper Dublin School District today to highlight the importance of free breakfast for all Pennsylvania students. We were able to hand out breakfast to the young learners before sitting to talk about what matters most to them.
We’ve already seen the positive impact Governor Shapiro’s free breakfast program has had on students and classrooms, and we need to keep delivering this win for students in this year’s state budget too. I am looking forward to making sure that this remains a priority as we head into budget discussions in Harrisburg next week.

On Memorial Day we pause to remember and honor America’s servicemembers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and dedication inspire us and remind us of the true cost of the liberties we enjoy.
Memorial Day is a reminder of the somber truth that freedom isn’t free. It's important to honor the memories of fallen servicemembers not just with words, but with actions that embody the values they fought to protect.
Thank you to all of our Military servicemembers for your dedication to our country.
Please note: My office will be closed today for Memorial Day.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Senior Resource Fair last week. It's a pleasure to partner with Rep. Melissa Cerrato and Rep. Nancy Guenst to bring community resources to our communities every year.
This year, we filled our table slots faster than ever before which shows just how much these resources want to be able to connect with our constituents. Thank you to all who were able to participate and for those who didn't sign up in time, we are already looking to see how we can fit more resource tables next year. Stay tuned!
