Many of you may have heard already that there is a call for the resignation of one of my colleagues in the House of Representatives for the abhorrent comments he made about another colleague based on his own personal bigotry.

I do not take this call lightly because if abused, is a slippery slope towards the dismantling of our democratic system, however, I also hold these positions that we are given in government and the people elected to them to a higher standard. As representatives of the constituents we serve, our actions and our words matter. Our community sees what we do. The children hear what we say. When we speak with a bigoted tongue, we are not only speaking to the room we are in, but to the district that we serve. The governing body in which we are a part of require decorum and respect. Neither of which my colleague, Representative Bernstine, displayed in his acts the other night.

Therefore, not because Representative Kenyatta is a friend, which he is, but because human decency needs to be the bare minimum standard to govern, I stand with my colleagues call for resignation.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so here’s a friendly reminder that early detection saves lives. Make sure to schedule your screenings and remind loved ones to do the same.

This month, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and show our gratitude to Pennsylvania’s doctors, nurses, organizations, and volunteers who are dedicated to improving the lives of breast cancer patients and working tirelessly to find a cure.

This past Tuesday my office was honored to participate in Rep. Joe Webster's ceremony in recognition of the Veterans we have lose to su***de each year. At the ceremony Rep. Webster read a proclamation to officially declare this week Veterans' Su***de Prevention Week, raised a United States flag and placed 17 dog tags on a Witting Tree to symbolize the daily number of veterans we lose to su***de each day.

To all of those who need to hear this, please remember that you are not alone, ask for help, talk to a friend or call a resource like the free 988 su***de and crisis lifeline. If you know someone who may be struggling, check in with them, you never know when one phone call could save a life.

Recently I was proud to announce that Ardsley Community Association had been awarded a grant in the amount of $30,000 for programing and facility needs. Yesterday I visited the Ardsley Community Center to officially congratulate Commissioner Dennis Zappone on obtaining this deserving award.

⚠🛑CALLING ALL FUTURE TRAFFIC ENGINEERS🚗🚚:

Pennsylvania high school students in grades 9–12 are invited to take part in the 2026–27 PennDOT Innovations Challenge. Teams of 2–4 students will develop a new solution to help prevent over-height vehicles from striking bridges and tunnels. Ideas could involve technology, artificial intelligence, sensors, navigation systems, roadway design, education, or other creative approaches.

The challenge comes as Pennsylvania has seen more than 600 bridge strikes involving over-height vehicles in recent years. Incidents can cause traffic delays, tunnel or lane closures, costly repairs and disruptions for businesses, schools, emergency services and travelers. Students are encouraged to think beyond existing approaches and develop a concept that has not already been used or tested in Pennsylvania or elsewhere.

Regional winners will advance to a statewide competition and present their ideas to PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll and a panel of judges. Submissions are due Friday, Jan. 29. Each team must have a faculty adviser submit its entry.
