On Nov. 1st, nearly 1 in 3 Philadelphians (~472,000 people) are set to lose their SNAP benefits because the Trump & GOP are illegally withholding emergency SNAP funding as political leverage in the federal budget shutdown — so in addition to our GOTV efforts, we will also be collecting food donations!

Please bring non-perishable, unopened food items, prior to expiration date. Donations will go towards the stocking the Food Pantries at Lutheran Settlement House & St Michael's ELCA Kensington.

Today we talked to our neighbors in East Kensington about the importance of voting YES to RETAIN our PA Supreme Court Justices and voting for Democrats up and down the ballot!

We also ran into State Rep. Danilo Burgos & State Rep. Mary Isaacson while talking to voters at the Kensington Derby & Arts Festival about the upcoming election on Nov. 4th.

We knocked doors in Port Richmond last weekend to talk with our neighbors about the importance of VOTING YES to RETAIN our PA Supreme Court Justices and for Democrats up and down the ballot — and we’ll be back at it again this weekend!

SATURDAY 10/25 — We’ll be canvassing in East Kensington and talking with voters at the Kensington Derby & Arts Festival!

SUNDAY 10/26 — We’ll be getting out the vote with the 18th Ward Democrats in Fishtown, then heading over to Port Richmond for the Richmond Flea!

This year our votes will decide the future of healthcare and reproductive rights, worker protections, public school funding, and free and fair elections in Pennsylvania. We have just 2 WEEKS LEFT to protect our PA Supreme Court majority!

Join us for a Port Richmond Community Canvass this Sunday, Oct. 19th at 10AM to help get out the vote in the upcoming Nov. 4th Election!

Before we knock doors, we’ll hear from State Sen. Nikil Saval & State Rep. Joe Hohenstein about the importance of VOTING YES on the PA Supreme Court retention races — as well as the other judges on the statewide ballot — then we’ll head out together to canvass our neighbors!

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Happy Hour last night — especially Sen. Nikil Saval, State Rep. Joe Hohenstein and Councilmember Rue Landau for their solidarity and words of hope during these troubling times. These are dark days, but they are made brighter by our wonderful community — and a few Philadelphia Brewing Co. beers!

Despite recent setbacks, we still believe that our finest moments lay ahead. The work will continue, and this coalition we built together will be invaluable in continuing the fight for our families, freedoms, and futures. Next Monday is Trump’s Inauguration. It will undoubtedly be a sad day for our country… But rather than doomscrolling alone at home, we’re getting together to host a Happy Hour to thank all of our amazing volunteers from last year!

The election outcome was clearly not what we hoped for, but despite decreased Democratic turnout across the city and country, we bucked the trend here in our community. As a result of our efforts — and with nearly 18,000 doors knocked — we were successful in increasing Democratic turnout in the Riverwards! We did our part and that is worth celebrating.

So if you were one of our 200+ volunteers, or if you are looking to get involved, please join us at Philadelphia Brewing Company on Monday, January 20th at 5:30PM for some great beer with your neighbors! We’ll also be joined by a few of our elected officials who will share some words of solidarity and their thanks.

We have a rough road ahead, but we’ll weather it together.

Our statement on the 2024 Presidential Election Results 📢

We knocked over 2,600 DOORS today! Thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping us get out the vote for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Bob Casey and the entire Democratic ticket! 💪

Today we reached 16,600+ total knocks over the last 6 weeks — well surpassing our goal of 15,000 doors — and there’s still one more day left until polls open! We greatly appreciate everyone who contributed to this important work for our community 🙌

And as always, a special thanks to Philadelphia Brewing Co. for having us! We’ll be back after 8PM on Election Night to watch the returns come in together 🍻
