Blockchain Gallery

These are three pieces by Kiara House. Kiara is one of the artists who has work on display at The Blockchain Gallery. Kiara is from Camden, New Jersey and describes her work like this:

" I draw and paint images from imagination. These images can either be masked portraits or full-bodied images with exaggerated body lengths and positions that are embellished with line work and dots. Their facial expressions are often mysterious or faceless, leaving the viewer full of wonder. The mediums used often are pens, markers, and acrylic paint on paper or canvas. My goal as an artist is to encourage the acceptance of the weird and unique expressions we each embody in some way."

Galen Shean is an artist whose work can be seen at the Blockchain Gallery. Galen is a local artist living and working in Philadelphia. This is a mixed media drawing inspired by the Shakespeare play "Macbeth". Galen's work is often informed by religious, literary and historical themes. The Blockchain Gallery is an art space located at 2731 Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia, PA. We are dedicated to providing a place where local and other artists can present their visual art. The gallery's primary function is to provide an opportunity for the community to come and see the beauty that is being created in this neighborhood and beyond. Kensington is a neighborhood in Philadelphia in the grip of numerous social challenges such as drug addiction, homelessness and extreme poverty. The Blockchain Gallery seeks to provide a safe space to experience the beauty of visual art. We also want to act as a resource for struggling artists and people in the community by providing supplies and information to those in need. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
