This hutch will match the table that I refinished. I added some distressing to this piece to give character and plan to leave the 2 drawers on the top a natural color and the top of the base natural as well.
This unit came with doors that cover the open spaces on the base and at the sides of the drawers on the top, I plan to keep the outer doors on the base and add baskets in the center, and for the top cut out the center of the doors and add chicken wire for a real country look.

Recently I posted about a Farmhouse style table that I refinished along with a couple of chairs and a bench. The table is about 7 1/2 feet in length but I only had seating for 6. Well the other day I was lucky enough to find some chairs to match the ones that refinished, so naturally I am going to complete the set for the table.
When I got the chairs they were well worn with the memories of their previous family. So I got busy stripping them down and prepping them for paint. Once finished this will make a nice set for a new family to make memories on.

In my down time I enjoy refinishing and up cycling wooden furniture a skill that I picked up from my father. As a kid it sometimes felt like punishment helping him preform his craft but now I use it as a way to unwind.
This table I saved from its fate in a landfill along with the 2 chairs, bench and a 2 piece hutch. After a good sanding, servicing the extension rails and painting the base, this beautiful table can serve a new family.
This table top was finish with Tung Oil from The Real Milk Paint Co and the base was finished with simple black satin latex paint. Sealed with finishing wax to give it long lasting durability.
