It's been a long time since I was a paid mechanic. But the last time I saw this stupid setup was on an import. What the heck GM?? The right side screw came out pretty easy, but someone butchered this one. For the record, since this is my personal vehicle, I did not reuse this screw. But if I was doing this for a customer I would have got a new screw and put it back together as original

Finally, now that I'm settled at the farm and can walk right out to the shop, time to get to work! Long needed front brakes on Precious. I hate putting these cool rotors on with the old crappy calipers, but it's not good painting weather right now. Side note... if I was doing this for a customer, I would check rotor runout before going back together. But I need a new gauge. I'll get one next trip to harbor freight. Don't wait when you hear your brakes making noise! I'm gonna be spending hours cleaning rust and debris from my wheels. Schedule your brake job today. Buy your own stuff or allow me to. I won't mark up any parts prices at this point. May have to sometime down the road tho depending how this endeavor goes.

Little project I picked up. Should be up for sale in a couple weeks. PSA, beware of backyard mechanics lol. Guy I got this from believed it needed a transmission. He put a used rear in thinking that was the initial issue. Truck wouldn't move in reverse. Turns out it actually needs a transfer case. While starting to remove it today I noticed a couple things🤔

Sometimes you gotta do a little pro bono job for someone that helps out a lot. With dads help and supervision it only took all day. Knew I was in trouble when I went to grab something out of the toolbox and heard him try using my air gun😂
