Happy Pride Month from all of us at SRPS 🌈

At SRPS, every runner is welcomed and celebrated for who they are. We honor that commitment in the way we support students and mentors, design our programs and events with OUTpace resources and trainings in mind, offer inclusive race registration options, and intentionally choosing the organizations and events we partner with who share these values.

We’re especially excited to continue partnering with  as the Q***r Run Philly 5K returns to FDR Park on June 13. 

We’re proud to be part of a running community that continues working to ensure LGBTQIA+ youth and runners know there is always a place for them here 💙💚

We’re growing our team!

SRPS is currently hiring for two new roles:
• Program Manager, Events
• Program Manager, Onboarding

These positions will help expand and strengthen the ways students across Philadelphia connect with SRPS, from helping launch and support new teams, to creating outdoor programming and trail-based experiences across the city.

We’re looking for people who care deeply about relationship-building, youth mentorship, community, and creating meaningful experiences for young people across Philadelphia.

Know a student who should be at the SRPS Leadership Summit this summer? Are you a student interested in attending?

We’re inviting teams to nominate 1-2 students for this free weekend leadership experience taking place June 26-28. Leadership Summit gives students the chance to meet other runners in our program from across the city, build confidence, try new things, and grow as leaders.

This is a great opportunity to recognize students who have shown effort, leadership, growth, or commitment throughout the season.

Nominations close TODAY, May 27, so students interested in attending should connect with their running leader!

Our Leadership Summit is one of the most special weekends of the year, and we’re officially getting ready for this summer’s trip.

It’s three days of running, swimming, games, campfires, late night cabin conversations, and spending time with students and leaders from SRPS teams across the city

This is a free weekend experience that brings students together from across the program for a weekend focused on leadership development, community, connection, and a lot of fun!

Leadership Summit takes place June 26-28 and SRPS Leaders should check the newsletter for nomination forms and counselor information, or contact SRPS staff with any questions.

The heat showed up strong yesterday, but so did our runners! Over 700 SRPS students and mentors joined the annual run/walk 5k alongside . Thank you to both organizations for welcoming our runners and creating such a hospitable race experience throughout the morning! Everyone got to go home with some awesome gear, and the hats especially came in clutch on such a bright day 🧢☀️

By the time runners hit Mile 7, they knew exactly where SRPS was. Broad & Washington turned into one giant cheer zone on Sunday, filled with families, mentors, and supporters showing up loud for our runners.

For a lot of our runners, this became a pivotal moment in the race, knowing there’s a place on the course where the entire community is waiting for them, hearing their names, spotting familiar faces, and getting that extra motivation they needed to keep pushing through the final miles.

Happy Monday! Something about felt extra special this year.

Everywhere you looked, it was blue shirts! Students reaching new accomplishments, mentors pacing alongside them. With over 1,000+ finishers we're proud to be the largest group in the largest 10 mile race in the country.

And behind it, the 140 charity runners who raised over $110,000 to help make this all possible. That’s what this weekend was, this community, showing up.
