Not every historical figure is easy to study.
Some force us to wrestle with hard questions:
What builds character? What breaks trust? How does pride change a person’s path?
At Rising Sun, our children don’t just learn the heroes of history — they learn the whole story.
Because history shapes discernment. And discernment shapes leaders.

The Mitchell Family: “Book club has been a true gift to my family! I am an avid reader myself, but I have not made reading to my elementary-aged kids a regular habit in my house in a long time. Since beginning Rising Sun, I’ve prioritized reading to the big kids right before bedtime, and now we honestly look forward to it every day. As to not jump ahead in chapters by the end of the week for book club, we’ve even added a second book to our rotation in the evenings.
I cherish this quality time with my kids, especially knowing all the benefits of reading aloud to children. Another bonus is that I get to relearn history right along with them, which I’m enjoying so much more now as an adult. The book selection has been fantastic, as well! Rising Sun has really been such a blessing to our family—a serendipitous gift!”

The past inspires the present!
And today’s learners are tomorrow’s history-makers!
Today Emma taught us all the powerful story of Mercy Otis Warren and how words matter—how voices (even young ones!) and writing can shape the future of a nation. History didn’t feel old today… it felt alive and personal.
And then…
We launched a top-secret spy unit—so secret we literally can’t tell you about it. Let’s just say: codes were cracked, missions were underway, and curiosity was running high.
