Spent the day with some incredible midwives and birthworkers renewing our newborn resuscitation certification.

Grateful to practice and refine life-saving skills in community with practitioners who are deeply committed to preparedness, competence, and honoring babies and families with calm, grounded care 🤍

✨ Childbirth Education Magic! ✨

Our homebirth families came together this weekend for such a powerful, hands-on childbirth education class — and wow, did they show up ready to learn, move, and connect! 🤍✨

We dove deep into hormones and how to optimize them for birth, explored what physiological birth truly looks like, and practiced positions that support the body and baby every step of the way.

There was rebozo sifting, shaking the apples to make more space, hip squeezes, allll the b***y rubs, and so many laughs and “aha!” moments. Watching partners gain confidence and couples work together is one of my favorite parts of this work.

I’m always so honored to walk alongside these families as they prepare for birth with intention, knowledge, and community. 🌿🤍

What a great weekend spending time with some of my favorite midwives, learning and practicing breech & twin skills.

Optimal cord clamping can take up to an hour after delivery. We never clamp and cut the cord until you want it done.

In the hospital they believe it’s done after 60 seconds. 🤔

Mothers were reported after they were given medications used routinely for pain or in epidurals, to reduce anxiety or to manage blood pressure during cesarean sections.

In New York, a mother with no history of drug use lost custody of her toddler & newborn for 5 months after she tested positive for fentanyl that the hospital had given her in her epidural."
