What a magical time in Philly this past weekend! Thanks to all who came out and packed the basement at Lot 49 for our once in a lifetime reading with Evan Nicholls, Shane Kowalski, and Kevin Sampsell, with editor/host Emma Alden. Evan and Shane read from their recent Future Tense books and Kevin read from his forthcoming novel, Baby in the Night (out 3/17 from Impeller Press).

Philadelphia! February 28th! Join us for a celebratory night of Future Tense authors reading together. Shane Kowalski and Even Nicholls will be there with their mighty books, and Future Tense publisher Kevin Sampsell does his first oreading from his upcoming novel, Baby in the Night. FUN FACT: When we were thinking of what the new Shane Kowalski book was going to look like, fate stepped in when we rediscovered the amazing 1974 Grace Paley collection, Enormous Changes at the Last Minute, at a thrift store. With its stylish presentation and funny photo/caption on back, we decided to totally mimic Grace’s brilliant book. As Paley fans, we were thrilled when cover designer Fiona Kobasz found the exact font (Chisel) and we were able to use it. The paperback of this Paley collection, btw, does NOT have the iconic Paley author photo on back (see last slide). 😊🕵🏻‍♂️

Now on newsstands everywhere, the new issue of , with a special treat: Shane Kowalski’s story, To Be Frank. What a thrill this is. Thank you!
