Sail Transport Network
Sail Transport Network was founded in 1999 by Jan Lundberg, independent oil industry analyst then publishing Auto-Free Times magazine.
The Sail Transport Network connects people – locally and across oceans – who are building community resilience by reviving heirloom technologies that will enable them to thrive in a fossil fuel-depleted, climate-disrupted world. We are the people – traders and sailors, farmers and craftsmen, artists and merchants – who will continue to tie your world together even as fossil fuel-based transportation recedes into the smoggy past.
Amazing footage.

As to the latest oil spill in the Aegean Sea, isn't it time to get away from oil dependence? Let's use truly clean, truly renewable sail power.
"Accidents" are inevitable, so when people keep driving and buying long-distance shipped goods, they assure oil spills.

After sailing thousand of miles it's time for a refit of our good ship Tres Hombres. She can use some tender, loving care. The upcoming months an amazing group of volunteers will take care of her.

"The hatch half full. With luck, we'll find more cargo in the canary islands in 14 days and then go to Canada!"
The world's largest cargo sailing vessel, Avontuur, is 44 meters long and carries up to 70 tons of cargo. A gale is a small price to pay for sustainability and living directly with nature!
