Last week, I had the opportunity to tour Dad's Hat Rye, a distillery located in the historic Grundy Commons Complex here in Bristol.
Operating for more than a decade, Dad’s Hat specializes in Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey — a spirit with deep roots in the Keystone State. Its owner, Herman, grew up above his family’s tavern in Monessen and developed a lifelong passion for the spirits industry from an early age.
Thank you to Herman and his staff for the warm welcome and informative tour. I enjoyed learning more about the history of Pennsylvania Rye, as well as the story behind the business itself. Small businesses like Dad’s Hat are an important part of our local economy and community, and I’ll always take the time to listen to the concerns of business owners and support their continued success.

Traffic Alert! 🚨 A section of Newportville Road will shut down for five days as crews advance a massive, $1 billion modernization project on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The closure will begin at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 1, and is scheduled to wrap up by 3 p.m. on Friday, June 5, PennDOT said.
During the closure, Newportville Road will be blocked off and detoured between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road so workers can perform bridge work.
PennDOT officials said motorists will be redirected to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road to bypass the construction zone.

Recently, Sen. Steve Santarsiero, Rep. Jim Prokopiak, and I were honored to present the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad with a check for $355,000 to purchase a new ambulance 🚑🚨.
These extraordinary men and women save lives every single day -- and I was thrilled to be able to support them by procuring this grant for their organization. This new ambulance will make their jobs easier and will provide state-of-the-art care for anybody that the ambulance services. I have always supported first responders, and I look forward to continuing to do so in any capacity I can 💙.

"We often say we value families in Pennsylvania, but Pennsylvania is now one of the last states in the region without a statewide paid family and medical leave program. Advancing the Family Care Act would demonstrate a commitment to prioritizing Pennsylvania’s families and recognizing caregiving as essential to the health and stability of our communities."

Recently, Sen. Steve Santarsiero and I had the chance to visit Bristol Borough Junior/Senior High School to see the results of a $485,000 state grant we procured that helped resurface the school’s track 🏃🏃♀️.
It was great to see this project completed and ready for the students, athletes, and community to enjoy. Bristol is home to so many hardworking and talented student-athletes, and this new track will give the Bristol Warriors a safe, updated facility to train, compete, and continue making their school proud.
I’m excited to see what the Warriors accomplish with this new track in the years ahead!

Recently, my colleagues Sen. Steve Santarsiero, Rep. Jim Prokopiak, and I hosted a free 📄Paper Shred Event and Food Donation Drive🍎at Bucks County Technical High School.
The event was a resounding success! Turnout was excellent, and we had so many people that showed up to donate food.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers who helped out, to BCTHS for hosting us, and to everyone who came out to take advantage of this free event! 💙
