We are thankful for all who volunteer in our parks!
Today's wonderful volunteers arrived from far away Norman, Oklahoma.
They joined Friends of Gorgas Park through the nonprofit organization Project Philly.
4 hours of outstanding gardening took place - spreading compost, planting, mulching and tending our Park's beautiful Gardens.
This spring and early summer well over 200 people- students, teachers, young & old adults from the neighborhood -have donated several hundred volunteer hours toward maintaining our splendid Central Park in Roxborough Manayunk.
Our Visitors enjoyed the work - and our community very much.
A Fun, Productive effort helped make our Community & Park even more beautiful this June 10th.

We are thrilled to announce that the Appalachian Mountain Club has added Germany Hill Park to their June–July workshop schedule. The program includes seven instructional workshops/workdays with space for 20~ participants per session.
We encourage you to participate as much as you can. This type of training will be valuable at RMC sites (and elsewhere) and we hope participants can share and train others. Best if you can make the Sat & Wed for each topic, but it's also OK if you can't.

The Friends of Gorgas Park are neighbors and friends of the park who volunteer their time to create a welcoming space for the whole community. They organize concerts and community gatherings, while also improving the ecology the park. Over the years, in collaboration with the RMC and dedicated volunteers, they have added landscaping around the Parkhouse and along the park’s perimeter.
