Fred Hampton was assassinated:
An independent autopsy of Fred Hampton, performed by Dr. Victor Levine, found that Hampton was shot while lying down, as evidenced by the placement of the bullet wounds and a heavy dose of the sedative Secobarbital in his system. The autopsy also found evidence that suggests the bullets entered from above and to the right, supporting the independent autopsy's findings that the killing was not a result of a gun battle but a murder. Hampton was killed during a raid by Chicago police on December 4, 1969, at his apartment.
