Feasterville Business Association hosts annual Blue Light Holiday Tree Lighting This event, held outside the Lower Southampton Library, honors the memory of fallen police officers

Neshaminy High School Senior and member of Boy Scout Troop #153, Tim Fisher (center) stands directly behind a new Free Little Lending Library located at Playwicki Farm that he created to fulfill a requirement of becoming an Eagle Scout. He received help to finish the custom library box from other scouts and community volunteers.

Fisher, who overcame dyslexia as a young child, created the project to encourage children and adults to read more. Anyone can borrow a free book but must replace it with another one. All of the books are from donations.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (left) and Frank Farry for State Senate (right) present special commendations to Rick Tyrrell (center) of Bensalem, PA, the Feasterville Business Association’s Person of the Year. The commendations were presented at the professional business association’s annual Frolic held at the Philmont Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

The special honors from the two government representatives included the event being entered into the Congressional Record in Washington, DC, a citation, and an American flag that once flew over the U.S. Capitol Building. Also, the presentations featured a special commendation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives which was read by representative Farry.

Tyrrell is the owner of Cheese Dog Restaurant on Bustleton Pike in Feasterville and was honored for his service to the FBA and the community at large. Founded in 1949, the mission of the FBA is to foster growth and progress for the betterment of the community.
