Cocktails and crosswords? Count me in šāāļø
Cocktail hour standards have officially been raised. Any reception without word games is just not quite cutting it for me from now on š

It looks like I repeated my yearly āabandon social media for the holidaysā tradition with a two month gap in posting š¤¦āāļø So here is some proof that I didnāt totally abandon my sign-making! The most stunning teal and gold combo for the sweetest December bride! Her creativity and openness to have some fun with her signs made her such a blast to work with!

Itās done! The mural is finished and I had so much fun doing it. It has been over a year in the making and feels soooo good to have it finished. I was originally supposed to do this back in March of 2020 but then everything shut down so here we are! It will probably be a few years before the next time I take on something like thisā finding time and help with my two kids was only possible because my husband is a teacher and is home right now. But even if itās years before my next one, this big giant wall of shapes made me remember how much I love murals, so it definitely will not be my last!

More window murals, but with color!! These were another super fun batch of windows, this time with more gigantic floral drawings in big, bright colors. These pretties will be up at TJs a little longer than the last few so come take a look!
If youāre interested in some pretty window designs for your own retail windows, DM me and weāll chat!

Happy Monday!
I had so much fun painting this logo by on the front window of ! It was my first on-site work in a long time, and will probably be my last for awhile as well, and I enjoyed every minute!
I have done some glass painting and window work before but only ever with paint markers, so I hesitated when first asked if this was something I do. But I thought about it and every service I offer now was once my first job doing that service. In 2010, I went after a store window display background painting job for a large company that was launching a second brand. Had I ever completed a painting that large before? Nope. Did I have experience working with a corporate client? Nope. Did I hesitate when they offered me the job? Nope. And it totally worked out. Same thing happened a few years later when I applied to do a mural for a local restaurant, and it led to an amazing client relationship that gave me even more jobs down the road.
So if thereās one thing Iāve learned from working on this side hustle for almost 10 years is to SAY YES. If itās something I am interested in doing and feels good and new and exciting and I want it, I say yes and figure it out along the way. And regardless of the inevitable bumps along the way, it usually works out ok.
And if youāre in the Ambler area and have an interest in comedy and improv, say yes and check out !

The little lady is napping so Iām squeezing in some sign making. A friend commissioned me for a fun laundry room sign for her mother, so Iām finally getting that one going. Itās fun to be working on something different and new!

Side note: did you know if you store your markers upside-down, you donāt have to shake and work them very long to reload them after a break? And in order to keep track of the colors, I paint a dot on the bottom with that color marker so I know what Iām grabbing.

WIP pics to come. Hope everyone is having a lovely week!

So it looks like Iāve gone another 6 weeks between posts again š¤¦āāļø Things have been so busy over here and Iām finally going to explain why Iāve been MIA for several months.

We are expecting Baby #2 in November!!! This news alone should be enough to explain my lack of appearances on here, given how insanely tired I was for the first 4 months, especially since Iām chasing around a 2 year old this goāround! But on top of that, I realized that my part time hours at my day job didnāt accumulate enough to qualify for maternity leave. In other words, once the new baby came Iād be out of a job. So I immediately kicked it into high gear, starting adding extra hours to qualify which meant drastically reducing time spent on GleeSigns. Anyone else over here REALLY think maternity leave should not be this difficult to get?!

Anyway, catching up to today, things have slowed down a bit. I was able to reduce my hours at work again, and I slowed down my work with calligraphy so that I could enjoy summer with my family and rest and focus on making sure I have a healthy pregnancy and a happy toddler and husband at home. These days ābalanceā (my word of the year) doesnāt look balanced to anyone except me and I feel like this is exactly how it needs to be for the time being.

Iām still unclear on exactly what this all will mean for GleeSigns. I donāt know how much work Iāll pick up in the fall and I donāt know how I will juggle signs and calligraphy with a toddler and a newborn. Maybe I wonāt for a little while, and that will have to be ok. I plan on keeping things going with all of this, but will be more selective on projects I take on and will take on less at one time. This summer I plan on launching my updated site with some new services (and some that Iāve decided not to offer anymore. And I hope to get some digital work online for downloads (hello passive income!)

Now about this gorgeous poem Iāve calligraphed for an old friend from high school. Is it not beautiful and precious and so perfect for a little girls room?! I may have to do one for my new little babe. But it definitely feels like a good sign that slowing things down (temporarily) is the right move

These two signs would normally take me about 4-5 of my average work days to complete (so about a week and a half-ish), but ended up taking well over 3 weeks due to life being crazy and unpredictable. Mom-life had to take priority, as it always will, and I am so lucky that was so kind, understanding and flexible!! I cannot wait to take my sweet girl to classes at your new location!
