It's not always fun and games at PCCY. We take on the serious stuff too like helping children receive free vision exams and free eyeglasses at Give Kids Sight Day. This free day of service wouldn't be possible without Dr. Alex Levin as it's champion! Follow his lead and make a donation to PCCY at www.pccy.org/donate today. There's still time to get the dollar for dollar match to double your impact!

"Take it or leave it.” That’s the ultimatum Florence*, a licensed practical nurse, was given when she raised concerns about risking her kids’ health.

For five years, Florence provided tender care to patients in an outpatient clinic. When her center started focusing on COVID care, out of concern for her children, she asked to be transferred to another center.

Florence was forced to choose between her children’s health or her job. She put her children first. She’s a mom of two children who have underlying health conditions and was gravely concerned about bringing COVID into her home.

But keeping them safe meant losing their health insurance. Fortunately, the PCCY HelpLine connected Florence with the coverage that her family needs. (read more here https://www.pccy.org/news/help-us-help-others/.)

Florence is just one example of how PCCY is making the lives of children and parents better in the vital these difficult times.
We need your help today so we can help more parents just like Florence.

The HelpLine fields 500 calls a year; your gift of $10 (or $25 or $50) for each call we take will go a long way. A very generous supporter is matching dollar-for-dollar every Giving Tuesday donation up to $5,000 - your gift goes twice as far.

So please give today to make it easier for families to get the health coverage they need in these difficult times. Thank you!

Many Pennsylvania families are facing so many difficult choices with regards to how COVID-19 is effecting their families. Allow us to help make difficult decisions about your child’s education a little easier. If you are considering cyber charter schools as one option over your community public school and your local public school teachers, we would encourage you to Check Before You Choose: www.paschoolswork.org/check

It really is a tough choice that many families may have to make this year. Do I support my local public school and teachers in my community or do I choose a cyber charter where teachers might be teaching from another state? Either way, we are urging you to Check Before You Choose at www.paschoolswork.org/check because the difference could be BIG!

Cyber charters frequently use recorded programs that can be re-used in many classes or for students individually. On average, cyber charter schools offer limited live instruction. For example, an average 2nd Grader would receive about 36 minutes of live instruction daily from a cyber charter teacher. Learn more and Check Before You Choose at www.paschoolswork.org/check

When the COVID-19 global pandemic hit Pennsylvania in March, public schools were forced to close and took on the unprecedented challenge of shifting school education plans to remote platforms. But did you know that some of these platforms, in the form of Cyber Charter Schools, have a pretty poor graduation rate when compared to traditional Public Schools? We urge you to, Check Before You Choose, by visiting: https://paschoolswork.org/check

Did you know that more than 90% of Pennsylvania public school districts are offering an online learning program for their students? This option keeps students connected to the school district teachers, curriculum, and school community, while allowing for a seamless return to school when the time is right.
