My first taste of the To Kalon Vineyard Company Cabernets. Both modern classics, but the Cab Franc based blend really rocks!

Many years ago, I was able to meet “Mike” Grgich at the winery in Napa. I’m happy to report that quality continues with the next generations.

Some wines may fall out of favor with the “cool kids”, but it it means more for the rest of us!

I can’t say that I love vintage , but when recently disgorged and stored at the producer warehouse, I could easily become enchanted.

Two special treats, both contributing to the story of Sauternes and Barsac. Pouring 2023 d’Yquem and 2006 (in magnum) in a general tasting. Chateau Suduiraut “Grand Vin Blanc Sec Pur Sémillon” (900 bottles produced). Great for me personally, but concerning how these Chateau work to stay relevant in today’s world.
