Our first Supper Sessions event of the season is coming up NEXT WEDS June 10! For public school kids, this is the day before schools lets out for the summer - and what a way to celebrate ๐
Join us for the monthly summertime street fest you love...we'll have food trucks galore, live music on the Showmobile stage, communal dining tables spanning the length of the 7100 and 7200 blocks of Germantown Ave, a kids' zone with free activities for the little ones, plenty of shopping from our small businesses and local vendors, and more!

๐ข Help us give a warm welcome! Sydelle O'Brien joined Mt. Airy CDC last month as our new Community Programs Coordinator, bringing years of experience in community engagement, storytelling, and program development. She has worked with nonprofits across the country, focusing on the intersections of immigration, education, and social justice, with a deep commitment to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
A first-generation college graduate, Sydelle earned her BA in Human Development and Community Engagement from Temple University and is completing her MA in Adult Learning, Training, and Organizational Development. She is excited to contribute to the vibrant Mt. Airy community and support initiatives that foster connection, learning, and collective growth. ๐
Sydelle will be working on the Literacy Rich Northwest Initiative and our summer reading camp program and will be supporting the NW Public School Families Coalition in addition to other projects.

๐ณ Today is the May 19 Primary Election, with an especially important race for Dwight Evans' seat in Congress. The polls are open 7am-8pm. ๐If you don't know your polling place for in-person voting, you can use the City of Philadelphiaโs Atlas tool to search using your address.
๐ง If you are using a mail-in or absentee ballot, your ballot must be received by the County Board of Elections no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day. IT'S TOO LATE TO SUBMIT BY MAIL, but you can drop your ballot in-person at the County Board of Elections office at City Hall, the secure ballot drop boxes below, or Satellite Election offices.
โThe closest ballot drop boxes are:
-Pleasant Playground, 6757 Chew Ave.
-Kendrick Recreation Center, 5822 Ridge Ave.
-Dorothy Emanuel Rec Center, 8500 Pickering St.
Additionally, there are nearby Satellite Election offices at 5301 Chew Ave. and 6233 N. Broad St. Visit https://vote.phila.gov/ballot-drop-off/ to see a full list of drop boxes and Satellite Election offices.
