12 YEARS AGO TODAY—Ruslan Provodnikov and Mike Alvarado went to battle in one of the most brutal fights of the decade. Provodnikov’s relentless pressure and heavy shots wore Alvarado down, forcing a stoppage after the 10th round. Alvarado couldn’t answer the bell for the 11th, giving Provodnikov the TKO victory and the Junior Welterweight World Title. Pure heart, pure violence — a modern classic. 💥🥊

Rest In Peace my friend

I am so sad and devastated to hear about the passing of Ricky. He was a great guy, a great friend, and I liked him very much. When I flew over to England to sign him, I got to know him and his family, his mom, dad, and brother Matthew, and Ricky was genuinely a lovable kid. I spent eight days in Manchester. I knew he was a star, and America was going to love him. He always had the “it” factor. Ricky was never anything but an upbeat and a genuinely very nice young man. My condolences go out to his mom and dad, brother, children, and his grandchildren. God bless Ricky. 🤍 -Artie
