Transition is constant.

"Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement." A portrait marks time, but the meaning and relationship of a portrait of yourself transitions as the memory stamp of the experience morphs into different relationships of who you were in that moment of time. This fall, local graduate hospital store, will be celebrating their 40th year in business. Their store is a real treasure trove of history and finds from around the world. I had the pleasure of photographing Parvez and Miryam, the store owners, a couple weeks ago and it was really special.

New work to share.

This one comes from in Philadelphia, a family-owned rug and home decor business celebrating 40 years this fall.

When I arrived to photograph Parviz and Maryam, the original plan was simple: find a backdrop and build the portraits from there. But pretty quickly it became clear the real story was already happening all around us.

You can feel how deeply connected they are to what they do. The rugs, textiles, and jewelry aren’t just products — they carry history, relationships, and stories.

What I loved most was how natural everything felt. Nothing overly curated. Just two people who’ve spent decades building something meaningful together.

Photographing people who are deeply connected to their work always changes the images.

Absolutely love the pure joy on their faces. This was taken after finished performing her hilarious 1 woman show, Unladylike. And was the engine behind her coaching her to the finish line. It was pure elation as I could feel it when the first show was over and successful!

I recently photographed a surgeon.

Before the camera came out, we spent time in conversation—understanding the shape of her life, the different worlds she moves between, and the parts of herself that don’t always get seen.

So when we arrived at the shoot, there was already a foundation.
A sense of direction. An arc to follow.
And then we held onto that structure lightly.

The day became a balance between intention and attention—knowing when to guide, and when to follow. It felt a lot like improvising: being present enough to respond, not control, and letting something real emerge in the space between people.

There’s a particular kind of presence that happens when someone isn’t trying to get it “right.”
When they trust the process enough to be seen in layers, not just in a single frame.

That’s where the work lives for me.
Not in constructing an image, but in creating the conditions for something more honest to surface.

RESET | May 15–17

Like mushrooms rising from the forest floor, what is visible is only a fraction of reality. Beneath the ground, mycelial networks quietly connect entire ecosystems—sharing nutrients, sending signals, sustaining life through relationship. We humans are not separate either. We’re wired for connection, even when we forget that we are.

Presence and Play at Bloom Farm is an immersion weekend to remember.
Through yoga, a restorative circle, purposeful play, and portraits, we’ll reconnect with ourselves, our creativity, and a circle of humans committed to aligning head, heart, and body. This is about deeper trust and relational healing, the kind of alignment you can feel, not just think about.

An experience designed to bring you back to yourself through movement, reflection, and brave connection. Come for clarity. Come for grounding. Come feel the network again.

I’ve been working with a consultant to re edit and redesign my Katarina Kojic photography site, and it made a huge difference. Having a high-level professional help me step back let me see my work more clearly, notice patterns I hadn’t before, and make the site simpler and more honest.

The photography site is part of Hello Gorgeous, my umbrella for all the ways I help people see themselves in their best light—through portraits, improv, and team experiences. I’m a photographer, a creative alchemist, a long time improvisor and teacher, and a former agency creative. All of that shapes how I guide a session and how I see people.

That’s exactly what I bring to clients, helping you step in front of the camera with perspective and care so your portraits feel confident, authentic, and truly you.
