Philadelphia mayor confirms the remains of the two missing workers have been found in the rubble of the CHOP parking garage that partially collapsed last week while under construction. A third man died at the hospital last week. The three men were members of Ironworkers Local 401.
As of 9am, demolition had not started on the Philadelphia parking garage where a fatal collapse occurred this week. One confirmed fatality, two more presumed dead. The mayor said all victims were members of Ironworkers Local 401. City officials say this will be a ’controlled demolition’ with crews safely working to remove the victims’ remains.
Crews continue to search for two people believed to be trapped beneath the rubble in this fatal collapse of a parking garage under construction in Grays Ferry. The building is unstable and will need to be taken apart in order to search the entire structure. OSHA investigating.
Philadelphia Police are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was fatally shot and a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured. As with all homicides in the city, there is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
