Some of our closest Philly friends moved last week so I painted us these locks to hang on the Manayunk bridge. So sad see people go that we’ve loved doing life with, but I’ll get to keep an eye on these locks when I’m out on my run and walks 🥰

It’s so cold here. I’m dreaming of feeling the sun again but for now I’m here having fun in my new studio space.

This is the first layer of my current project. I think it’s adorable and love the ice blue! I’ll build a few more layers on top of this one. My goal is to get 5 good prints from it.

I also joined an event put on by a local shop that means I have another project to get started on. Off to do some art 🏃‍♀️

A new series all about color. ✨

Each month I’ll be attributing a color to that month that, in my mind, defines it and helps set the tone.

January is an icy blue! To me this month is for making soup, journaling and planning, wearing your comfiest sweaters, resting after a very busy season.

I’ll be doing a little color study and making an art piece that encompasses the vibe of the month. Stay tuned for more!

I’ll be here carving til the sun goes down

I took a pretty big hiatus from creating at the end of the year. This was for a few reasons, one being my work space. I haven’t had a studio space that works well for me in my new home yet and fixing that has been overwhelming. Today Hunter said “Daley come upstairs, we’re moving this table” and I didn’t know how much I needed that. We set up the simplest little space in our guest room with the good light and wow. This is what I needed.

I’ll be here as much as I can. Sometimes you just need someone to help you get going.

Late night carving sesh

Since moving I have a day job which has really effected my rhythm of creating. The sun sets at 4 which makes my body go into rest & retreat mode. I think winter is a really unnatural time of the year to set ambitious goals, but that’s another topic for another day.

I’m trying to work out with myself how to create a steady rhythm in my art practice knowing my days are often full of other things. Thankfully that day long sunshine is headed back our way 🌞

My first artwork of the year, just for fun. A few little matchbooks. And this is the song I think this piece would sound like 🤠
