Today we are mourning indigenous lives and land lost, past and present as colonization continues. We also hold space for LGBTQ+ and disadvantaged youth, as well as those struggling with mental health, domestic abuse and family conflict, eating disorders and disordered eating, financial and food insecurity, and homelessness or displacement today and every day.

Last night, BSCAPE leader Sky M. presented to youth on the real, gruesome, and white supremacist history of Thanksgiving and why it’s a day to mourn, not celebrate. After a critical discussion about bias, education, and our responsibility to constantly challenge the white supremacist narrative, Rainbow Room youth wrote letters of solidarity to the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head, direct descendants of the tribe colonized by Protestant invaders in the 1600s. Tomorrow, we will be sending these letters out to the Wampanoag Community Center in Aquinah, Massachusetts. If you missed the event and would like to add your own letter of solidarity and share how you’ll be acknowledging and sharing the real history this season and beyond, contact us via email or DM!

FIRST Wednesdays will remain virtual via Zoom. Email or DM us for registration information!

FOURTH Wednesdays: open to 12-21yr olds with programs geared to younger kiddos (guardian consent required for ages 12-13), plus PFLAG Bucks meets in a neighboring room to The Rainbow Room (contact them directly for confirmation on in-person/virtual).

BSCAPE doesn’t typically endorse politicians, but we are so proud to make an exception for LARISSA HOPWOOD Larissa Hopwood for Doylestown Mayor!

BSCAPE organizers know Lolly through all the amazing work she has done for q***r youth in Doylestown and The Rainbow Room. Our leaders have worked with Lolly on anti-racism, anti-s*xism, and other intersectional social activist projects. We know that Lolly is a visionary progressive, an amazing parent, and a true leader with everyone’s best interests at heart. We have no doubt that as mayor, they will promote our values of environmental sustainability and social justice in Doylestown and beyond. Let’s go Lolly! ✊💚💙
