Jamila Winder is appointed to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners after Val Arkoosh’s resignation In addition, Democratic party leaders are backing state Rep. Tim Briggs for another spot on the three-member board.

This week, we saw the culmination of almost two years of hard work, negotiations and compromise, as the Lower Merion School District announced a tentative agreement which would preserve a great number of trees, historic buildings, and a key property in Villanova. It is one of those projects that I will proudly tell my grandkids about.

Another great week of meeting Democrats across the County and sharing my vision for a Register of Wills office focused on social justice and accessibility for all. Thanks to the folks in Pottstown, Norristown, King of Prussia, Salford/Telford/Souderton and North Penn.

A great event this morning with the Area 4 Democrats. Joe Ciresi was so inspiring, as were Karen and all of the local candidates who spoke to inspire people to run for office. Brought back some great memories of when I ran for Township Commissioner for the first time in 2017!

Such a great time celebrating our new Governor AND Secretary of DHS in Harrisburg yesterday before heading to the Horsham Democratic Committee to share my vision of a Register of Wills office for the people.

Due to some amazing work in the fall, the Democrats took the State House in 2022. However, due to a couple of appointments and a death, we are now 2 seats short with 3 special elections.

I have been asked why this is needed as these districts are pretty Democratic-leaning.
1. We can’t take anything for granted.
2. They may be Democratic districts, but the electorate has to know about a Special Election and why it is important in order to vote.
3. And that costs money
4. Three Special Elections will cost a lot.
