ARTWRKD Presents The Colors of Music: A Solo Exhibition by Jeanette Griffith
June 5 – June 28, 2025
Opening Reception: June 5 at 6:00 PM
Artist Meet & Greet: June 20, 1:00–4:00 PM

ARTWRKD Gallery | 128 S. State Street, Newtown, PA

ARTWRKD is pleased to present The Colors of Music, a solo exhibition featuring the work of represented ARTWRKD artist Jeanette Griffith, on view from June 5 through June 28, 2025. The exhibition explores the relationship between sound and visual expression through a vibrant collection of abstract paintings inspired by music.

For Griffith, music serves as both catalyst and guide. Her work translates rhythm, melody, harmony, and emotion into dynamic compositions of color, texture, line, and space. The exhibition invites viewers to experience music through a visual lens, revealing how sound can become shape, movement, and atmosphere on canvas.
“My work is an intuitive response to music translated into line, color, texture, shadow, and positive and negative space. The Color of Music inspires my visual interpretation of note, chord, and melody.”
— Jeanette Griffith

A native of Philadelphia, Griffith began her artistic career as a designer and fabricator of stained-glass windows. She later studied sculptural glass and developed a distinguished career as a craftsperson, studio assistant, manager, and instructor. Drawing upon decades of experience, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Fine Arts from Lesley University, where her focus expanded to painting, mixed media, and photography.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the deCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, the International Exhibition of Glass Craft in Kanazawa, Japan, the Glass Museum in Ebeltoft, Denmark, the Hall Haskell Gallery, Montserrat College of Art, and numerous galleries throughout New England and Pennsylvania.

Visitors are invited to attend the exhibition's Opening Reception on June 5 at 6:00 PM, as well as a special opportunity to meet the artist on June 20 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Jeanette Griffith will donate 50% of artwork sales to The Bucks County Foundation's initiative addressing hunger and homelessness in Bucks County, a cause that holds deep personal significance for the artist.

Bucks County Foundation is proud to serve as a grant partner with The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theatre Education Center.

Spring 2026 grant awards include a leadership gift to the Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center who is responding to the recognized, pressing community need to preserve Oscar Hammerstein’s historic property in Doylestown, PA, where he lived and worked, as an inclusive, accessible hub for cultural enrichment and education serving the Bucks County community.

The $10,000 grant supports the restoration of the deteriorated balcony and porch at Highland Farm. Both areas are historically significant, as Hammerstein composed many iconic works pacing along the balcony or contemplating on the porch.

Hammerstein Museum is honored to be the recipient of a generous grant from the Bucks County Foundation to support upcoming renovations to Highland Farm! We are extremely grateful to all of our donors, community organizations and individuals who are helping us build a world-class institution in the heart of Bucks County where future theatre creators will uncover and amplify their own unique, artistic voices for generations to come.

It feels great to end a work week with excitement- I'm still smiling from last night's Scholarship Reception at Delaware Valley University where, through a generous estate gift, Bucks County Foundation provides yearly scholarship funding to help lessen the financial burden of higher education.

Just last year, the Happ Grover Scholarship Fund supported 25 students with a total of $44,000 in scholarship money! Wow!

Students are majoring in everything from Interdisciplinary Studies to Counseling Psychology and Sustainable Agricultural Systems to Writing and Literary Studies and so much more!

Pictured here are 3 dynamic Delaware Valley University students with Lucy Steitz, CFP (R), BCF Board member, and myself.
