Heather Miller for State Representative

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the love and support throughout my entire campaign! I’m humbled by the amount of volunteers that worked with me during the campaign and the folks who took the day off from their jobs to work the polls on Tuesday, May 17th simply because, they believe in me.
The outpouring of support from our local elected officials and the amazing community members who voted for me will never be forgotten!!

Unfortunately, Election Day was marred by election code violations, intimidation and violence up to and including an (alleged) assault of one of my female poll workers resulting in fractured bones!
My opponent’s supporters and the 53rd Ward should be held accountable for their actions. It is never a good time to harass, intimidate or abuse females, voters or children!!
I’ve been a committee woman for over 20 years and have never witnessed such aggression and hostility on Election Day towards poll workers inside and out and I hope to never see it again!!

I will continue to hold my head high knowing that I ran a well fought and clean campaign!
I’m looking forward to continuing working in my community on the issues that matter most to me.

It’s Election Day!! Get out and vote today for the only candidate with a proven track record of fighting for our community who will also happen to be the first democratic women from Northeast Philadelphia to make it to the House of Representatives!

My FREE community self-defense classes were a hit with those who were able to attend!! I wish that I had more photos.
Instructor Julio Rosario of Semper Fi MMA Muay Thai and his team mates did an excellent job of teaching invaluable skills to protect one’s self against a physical attack and all while having fun!!

We had another successful event last week on Cinco de Mayo during our candidate Meet and Greet at Chase's Hop Shop!
I enjoyed meeting with community members who came in to meet me and enjoy the delicious tacos and frozen margarita slushes from one of my favorite shops along the Rising Sun Avenue commercial corridor!

A huge shout out to 35th Democratic Ward Leader, Bill Dolbow, our committee people, friends and supporters for being there!!

It was a great fundraiser and a wonderful way to celebrate my 50th birthday!! I’m truly blessed to live in such a great community and have such wonderful friends!!

I’m blessed to have the support of an amazingly strong and successful woman! Bonnie Kayn is the founder of the Toben Center on Caster Avenue and she’s a community member. The Toben Center has the highest adult high school diploma preparation (GED)success rate in the entire State of Pennsylvania!

I’ve added an additional FREE Self-Defense class at one of my favorite places, Trinty Church, Oxford’s Buchanan building!
We are having a great time at the FREE self-defense classes that I’m hosting for the entire community! Please, sign up for a class today!

I was happy to be invited to celebrate the beginning of Asian Pacific Heritage Month and the flag raising ceremony at our new American Chinese Museum located at 7345 Oxford Avenue, but I was honored when asked to speak about my campaign for the 203rd district!
I feel fortunate to be surrounded by good people here in our community and for the relationships that I’ve formed over the years of community service and activism!
This addition to the community is especially important for me due to the fact that my two oldest children and my grandchildren are part Asian. I’m looking forward to visiting the museum with my family once it’s open to the public.

Don’t forget that Chase's Hop Shop will be selling Margarita flavored Slushies all weekend long and three dollars from every one will come back to my campaign! 
Also, raffle tickets are still available at the Hop Shop and are being sold 3 for $5.00!
The winner of last night’s raffle donated it back and Frank agreed to keep it through the weekend!

Unfortunately, we are postponing the community cleanup scheduled for tomorrow morning to a date to be determined after May 17th due to the forecasted rain.
