We are so happy to give a native plant grant to North Wales Area Library! We planted with the Kindergarten Prep team that came this morning to learn about bees and butterflies.

We added 25 new plants to the library's existing garden, and our young gardeners can come back and check on the showy goldenrod, blue-eyed grass, anise hyssop, bee balm, and other pollinator plants they planted.

Many thanks to all our garden helpers who planted and watered and to Ms. Nicole, who sang songs and read books while everyone got a chance to plant.

Even though the storm yesterday brought our planter workshop inside, it did not diminish enthusiasm The Fallser Club in East Falls. As the rain subsided, a couple more folks joined us to make planters.

We were able to share native plants for sun and shade and some okra plants too, thanks to a generous grant from the Weavers Way Environment Committee. The okra seedlings were donated by Amanda Staples.

Thanks to everyone who planted a little habitat to take home! I hope you enjoy my favorite vegetable, which is a member of the hibiscus family and has a lovely cream-colored flower. The last photo is okra flowering in my garden a few years ago.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our plug sale yesterday! I enjoyed talking about garden plans and gardening triumphs with folks as they made their selections.

Journeywork volunteers, Rachel and Dan, also supplied some free blue wood asters and black-eyed susans from their yard, which were claimed appreciatively.

Pick up a few landscape plugs for your garden--they are left over from our spring installations. Beautiful, healthy native plants! The species available are listed in the comments.

Journeywork collaborated with Springfield Open Space to design a new pollinator garden in Veterans Park in Wyndmoor. Members of Springfield Open Space removed the sod, and they planted 250 native plants with members of the Springfield EAC.

*black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia fulgida var. deamii)
