Our Mission: To restore the land together, joyfully. We meet people where they are as we seek to revitalize the land, one lawn at a time. And we can start now.

WHAT WE DO
We work in neighborhoods, schools, and congregations to give people the tools to enhance the ecological value of their landscapes. We grow and source plants, provide design guidance, and engage volunteers to help people improve the habitats they steward. We foster community dialogue, education, skill-building & sharing through workshops, consultations, and client work. WHY WE DO IT

A grand Pollinator Palooza today! Our snappy volunteer team matched people to their plants, helped them load them up, sold our signs and shirts, and made the day a smooth success!

Thanks to our incredible volunteers and to everyone who picked up plants to build more healthy habitat!

Journeywork volunteers tagged all the plants today to match the garden maps for full sun and dry shade gardens. We are ready for Pollinator Palooza tomorrow!

The Montgomery Township EAC then loaded up 50 plant sets to distribute to residents who signed up for their generous lawn replacement program. The EAC sponsored free plant sets to encourage residents to replace some of their lawn with native plants.

I am grateful to the volunteers who helped out today, the Montgomery Township EAC who organized and promoted our plant distribution this evening, and the residents who are supporting more local wildlife with new pollinator gardens!

Our volunteers finished sorting plants today and got our tags ready for Pollinator Palooza. Almost 6,000 plants divided into 213 trays, 7 native species in each, 28 plants per set. And 1,491 color-coded popsicle sticks!

Many thanks to everyone who helped today!

An incredible flow of great work by our volunteers today to sort plants into Pollinator Palooza sets. In 4 hours, they created all 90 shade sets and half of the 123 sun sets! Thanks for such smooth teamwork!

Spring Pollinator Palooza plants are ready to start sorting, thanks to the diligent Journeywork volunteers who caravanned with me to pick them up from the kind, hard-working folks !

Not only did everyone work seamlessly to load and unload 129 flats of plants, they all agreed to pose for pictures.

Thanks to all our drivers and to the staff !

Journeywork helped two local churches add almost 600 native plants to their grounds yesterday!

Journeywork volunteers worked with members of the First Presbyterian Church in Germantown to add native plants in every planting bed in front of the church, including under a beautiful blooming yellowwood tree.

We are coming back on Sunday, May 17 to replace some of their lawn with a pollinator garden near new raised vegetable beds.

Then we went to plant 392 plants at Christ's Community Church in Drexel Hill, where a lawn used to be. Members of the church worked hard to get every plant in the ground and watered before a few raindrops fell.

These churches will offer an alternative example to their communities of how they can manage their grounds with dense native plantings that will not need mowing or annual mulch applications.

Thanks to everyone who came out to plant!

Journeywork is excited to welcome John Mark Courtney, founder and owner , as the speaker for our second Summer Solstice Evening.

John will share stories of his experiences growing native plants, take questions, and then lead a guided walk through the meeting grounds, observing and celebrating native plants along the way.

Delicious refreshments and conversation will precede and follow the talk. Bring your lawn chairs and join us for a relaxing and inspiring evening.

The Summer Solstice Evening is our biggest fundraising event and supports our plant grant program to schools and other nonprofit organizations.

The day warmed and the people came out to enjoy a stroll at the Chestnut Hill Home & Garden Festival. Board members Anna, Travis, and Poorva answered questions with me and encouraged folks to join Pollinator Palooza.

Thanks, for including us in this year's festivities!

A great day for our first planting of the season! Journeywork volunteers made such quick work of planting 300 landscape plugs of native woodland species that I missed taking any action shots.

Species planted included white wood aster (Eurybia divaricata), blue woodland phlox (Phlox divaricata), hairy beardtongue (Penstemon hirsutus), blue-stemmed goldenrod (Solidago caesia), and Eastern star sedge (Carex radiata).

Many thanks to our volunteers who pulled together as a mighty planting team!
