Sharing my latest song. A composition in Raag Jaunpuri originally sung by Smt Ashwini Bhide DeshpandeG. For the guitars, the riff uses an alternating minor 6th and tonic motif (very Tool'esque sound I've been told). There are intentionally no beats in the track. Instead, the guitar rhythm based on Indian percussion instruments gives the song the swing I feel. It's probably more pronounced in the unplugged version of this.

Headphones recommended. Sorry, everything gets very loud in this one.

2 years ago, I stumbled on a video by Guitarist Prasanna on his custom tuning. My base was Carnatic and Hindustani music, so finding a new way to speak the same language on an instrument I'd been playing for ~20 years was transformational.

The guitar I play in this is the first guitar I tuned to EBEBEB and it set off a 2-year exploration that has been great.

I've found a new musical voice, which I hope will continue to push me musically and hopefully lead more music in all our lives.
