Terry P. Mitchell is the founder and president of Black Leaders Collective. Terry says, “It’s my life’s work, mission, and purpose to inspire, encourage and harness the power of undeserved demographics to recognize their creativity, develop leadership skills, take the best care of our community and to be proud of our resilient and rich history.” As a wife and mother, she knows a happy, healthy family is the building block of a happy, healthy community and makes sure her service work starts at home first.
In just two years, Terry and Black Leaders Collective have served more than 31,000 underserved individuals and families with food and essential goods under the BLC Feeding & Serving the Village initiative. They have also advocated and passed 3 City Council Resolutions and are setting up to launch an African American Men's Health Clinic and grocery store in the Eastern Crescent to alleviate food insecurity.
Terry implores folks to get involved with the Ultrapreneur Fellowship program created by 3 Day Startup, a startup and career accelerator aimed at youths. She also loves local businesses The Victory Grill (for the food and lounge feel), ILY Nails & Beauty Bar (for nail care), and Tony's Jamaican Food (for incredible Caribbean cuisine) - plus Glam Beauty Bar, the salon Terry owns!
