Artery is a student-run organization at the University of West Florida. We hold numerous community service events both on and off UWF campus.

The Artery is a student run organization which strives to expose students to art related topics above and beyond the classroom. Academic enrichment trips are held multiple times to local and major cities for exposure to contemporary art.

Looking for a chance to have your work in a gallery? Here is a fantastic opportunity for you to be involved in!

Attention Facebookies!

We are extending the deadline for submissions to our art exhibition, _Feminist Iconography_, by two weeks, as to give potential contributors a bit more time to work on and submit their pieces. We ask that all contributors adhere to this year’s theme of feminist iconography throughout history, and submit their pieces via email by Friday, October 17th. These pieces may adopt a variety of forms and media, including painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, video formats, photography, poetry, creative prose, musical arts, etc. So, if you or someone you know is poetically, theatrically, musically, or artistically inclined, please considering submitting, and share the word with friends.

To all ARTery members,

We just wanted to inform you that the ARTery is having a change of guard and we are actively seeking new officers to hold the positions. If you are interested or if you know anyone who would be interested, please contact Valerie George at [email protected].

Blythe Webster works in the library on campus and is looking for a student and/or students to paint a mural on the wall where the copy machines and change machines are. It's the room between the Starbucks and information desk.
She is really looking for this to be done by students.

They are looking for just a beautiful piece of student artwork.
Does not have to be school themed or library themed. It can be anything from your imagination! Once the proposals are sent in, the marketing committee will make sure the images will not break any student conduct rules.

Proposals due Friday, Oct. 25th

One page max. Can be handwritten if needed. As long as your idea is explained in a couple of sentences, and there is a rough sketch included. They can be turned in at the circulation desk in the library (just let them know it's for Blythe and they can give it to her) or you can email them to Blythe at [email protected]
Dimensions: 15’ 2” wide X 6’ 1” high

They are willing to provide $70 worth of house paint. This includes black, white, and primary colors. Others colors will have to be mixed unless there are a few colors that need to be ordered from lowe’s or home depot. Drop cloths and tape can also be provided. Brushes will not be provided.

Hours for this can be put into service hours for an organization or for a final project for a teacher.

Please spread the word! There are ten days left to submit. Thanks!

The Department of Art is currently undergoing a program review. This review will generate a vital report that will have future ramifications for our department. One critical piece of this is a meeting scheduled on 5/9/13 at 1:30PM in building 82, room 206. At this time, the review team (consisting of reviewers outside of the Art Department) will meet with undergraduate art students affording students the opportunity to provide input as to the team’s concerns and/or questions in relation to our department and our programs. We are requesting as much student participation as possible! We realize this date falls in between semesters but for any of you who are available, you input will be invaluable to this process.
Please let me know if you are able to participate.
