2 things I love about this design: 1) 2021 was the year for much needed color! We debated doing something more traditional but I really leaned into this concept and 2) This design makes me think of what I thought graphic design looked like when I was an art student and I think it’s a great example of what you can do as a graphic artist.

So cheers to me and more great design ahead! And thanks to AAF Pensacola for the opportunity!
Congratulations to Abby Jay on winning this giveaway, and thank you again to all the local businesses who contributed to this bundle!

As one of the biggest financial supporters of the PSO, they also host fundraising events throughout this year. At our year-end leadership meeting, President Sue Flanders and Treasurer Charlotte Cheney presented the orchestra with a donation of $32,500, made possible by the generosity and support of each member. “We’ve GOT to make noises in greater amounts!
So, open your mouth, lad!
For every voice counts!” – Dr. Seuss
As students across the country celebrated Read Across America (and Dr. Seuss’ birthday) last week, the students at Dixon School of Arts & Sciences participated in instrument petting zoos, musical demonstrations, drum circles and cafeteria concerts with our musicians and our friends from the Blues Angel Music Foundation. Oh, the places you will go, when music is part of your life!

Eight years in the making, and rehearsals are finally here for the chorus, the soloists and the orchestra for Verdi’s Requiem. On Saturday evening, more than 200 artists will share the Saenger stage for one incredible evening of music. We can’t wait for the privilege of experiencing it with you.

Decades before revelers first crowded Times Square for new year celebrations in 1907, they congregated farther downtown at Wall Street’s Trinity Church for the customary practice of ringing in the new year. Pensacola has enjoyed its own celebrations through the years, but one enduring tradition has been our concert at the Saenger Theatre. For more than two decades, we have celebrated each new year with timeless music.
Whether joining us has become your tradition or you are looking to establish something new, we invite you to Celebrate the New Year! with us on December 31 at 7 p.m. at the Saenger Theatre! The late Joe Gilchrist said it best, “Music brings people together and makes the world a better place.” Joe was a longtime patron of the PSO and the originator of the Frank Brown International Songwriters' Festival.
Last night, the Orchestra shared the stage with three amazingly talented Music City Hitmakers to present songwriters with symphony in a truly special concert. We are grateful for the vision of Peggy Butler and the help and passion of our friends with FBISF and the UWF Foundation. This event was made possible through the generous support of Foo Foo Festival and many sponsors. We hope that we made Joe proud by bringing people together and sharing some songs, stories and symphony for an extraordinary audience. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Larry Butler Memorial Music Scholarship Fund at UWF.

Rehearsing for tonight’s concert at the Saenger Theatre! Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. It promises to be incredible evening of music and storytelling benefiting the Larry Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of West Florida.

Celebrating 50 years of the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival with a special performance at Fountain Park! There is no greater community than the one we enjoy!

A concert is the culmination of years of study, rehearsal and creative exploration. Today, we enjoyed a conversation among soloist, composer and conductor who shared their perspectives on the symphony experience.
We’ll be welcoming each of these talented individuals to the Saenger Theatre this Saturday, November 5 for dress rehearsal at 1:30 and our concert at 7:30 p.m. The orchestra, conducted by Peter Rubardt, will be playing composer Michael Senturia’s “Petra,” and we will be joined by soloist Rachel Lee Priday for “Scottish Fantasy.”

With undulating themes evoking the water, Felix Mendelssohn’s “The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave)” is soaked in the composer’s experience in the Scottish sea cave that was formed by an ancient lava flow that fractured upon cooling. Producing columns that amplify sound, the natural wonder became known as the Cave of Melody, a fitting moniker given the piece that it inspired.
Join us on November 5 at 7:30 p.m. for a concert that transports us around the world to enjoy Mendelssohn’s “The Hebrides (Fingal’s Cave)” along with Max Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy,” Michael Senturia’s “Petra” and Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 at the Saenger Theatre.
