If anyone would like to be an extra in a TV show, please let me know. Here's the catch(s), we start at 7am both Saturday (tomorrow) and Monday, and we'd need you there both days for continuity within the show. After hearing that, please let me know if you are interested.

Beginning next Tuesday, September 14th, we will be offering a second Naginata class. Class will begin at 5:30 p.m. in addition to our regular Friday night class which begins at 8:30 p.m. Come join us!

We're back!!! Classes have resumed their normal schedule. Thank you for your patience as we recovered from Hurricane Sally. We will still be following the CDC guidelines related to Covid-19.

There will be an Iaijitsu class tomorrow (Sunday September 20) at 1:00 p.m.

We hope everyone made it safely through Hurricane Sally. The dojo is good; however, we are under a countywide 7pm to 6am curfew, so we will not have classes until the curfew ends.

We have resumed regular classes at our dojo. Please note that, we are following CDC guidelines related to Covid 19. The only deviation from our schedule is that our Judo class will resume on Friday of this week. Please check our website at www.biggreendrum.com for class schedules.

Because the Covid 19 numbers are so high in Florida in general and in Escambia County specifically, the dojo will be closed for a week. We are evaluating our options on a week-to-week basis, and we will keep you up-to-date here on our page. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this ongoing situation.

Traditional | Big Green Drum Japanese Martial Arts | United States Big Green Drum is a traditional dojo run by students and committed to the ideals of the founders of our various arts. We are non-profit and welcome individuals and families. Our monthly dues go to support the upkeep of the dojo. No instructors are paid.

The dojo will reopen this coming Monday, May 18 after the governor announced that gyms will be allowed to reopen that day. We will be following the Covid-19 guidelines and will be practicing techniques that will allow for social distancing. In addition, we ask that you please wear a mask if you plan to come to class, and if you're sick, don't feel well, or have any symptoms of the virus, please be considerate of your training partners and stay home. We look forward to seeing you back in class!

In keeping with orders issued by Governor Ron DeSantis, the dojo will be closed at least through the end of April. If you're a student and want to pay April dues, please contact Angelia at [email protected] to make arrangements. If you're interested in joining the dojo and want more information, you can also use that email address. Please stay safe everyone. We will be back!
