Hi! Welcome to the Walking, Jogging, Hanging Out Club for teens!
Please check the events tab for weekly meetups. It is recommended each event is marked as “going” in order to receive updates for that specific day. If a day is cancelled due to weather or any other reason you will receive an update for that day by doing so.
My name is Giselle Johns, and I look forward to having your student in our club! I took over from Mrs. Jennifer once she stepped down, to keep the group going. I can only hope I am able to do as great as she did.
Meetups are NOT drop off. Parent(s)/guardian(s) should be on site at all times.
Students will walk, jog, bike, skate, scooter, whatever moves them, on the marked path for 30 minutes. The rest of the time is spent hanging out and building friendships. A record will be kept of how many laps each student completes each week. Certificates will be awarded at the end of the semester with the student's total mileage.
This event is intended for teens (13 yrs old to 19 yrs old), but younger siblings are welcome to join.
This park is equipped with a porta-potty, water fountain, covered seating, basketball court, and parking lot.
In the event of bad weather, I will cancel the event for the week.
We will start promptly at 1:30 pm each week with stretching exercises to get the students warmed up.
Any questions or comments feel free to reach out.
A schedule for Fall 2022 will be posted soon.

USA TODAY NETWORK – FLORIDA
Planet Fitness will be opening its doors to teenagers all across Pensacola with its High School Summer Pass program.
The High School Summer Program allows teens ages 14 to 19 to work out for free at any of its Florida locations from May 16 to Aug. 31.
The first-of-its-kind program, originally called Teen Summer Challenge , launched in 2019 and saw more than 900,000 teens sign up and complete more than 5.5 million workouts over a three-and-a-half-month period.
Planet Fitness conducted a national study that found that 93% of American teens want to stay healthy and active over the summer months, but many lack motivation or access to do so. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association Network Open, less than 15% of teens met the 60-minute daily physical activity recommendation during the pandemic.
To help further motivate high schoolers, all participants who sign up starting May 16 are automatically entered into the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass Sweepstakes. Planet Fitness will award one $500 scholarship in each state (and the District of Columbia) and one grand prize $5,000 scholarship at the end of the summer which can be used for academic, athletic and other programs.
High school participants will additionally have access to certified trainers at Planet Fitness who have designed 15 trainer-led workout videos and 10 downloadable workouts — encompassing cardio, strength, toning and sports circuits.
For more information on High School Summer Pass, including how to sign up for the free membership at any Planet Fitness location in the Pensacola area, visit PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass .

Hi Families!
This is going to sound corny, but I feel I need to say it. It was such a joyful thing today watching the kids hang out and play in the woods by the track!!!
I have known these kids for several years now because you families are so amazing and always show up for stuff, so I am familiar with their personalities. Today, as they were exploring the trail and the surrounding woods, it was such a joy to me to see each of their personalities shine. The helpers, dare-devils, worriers, jokesters, nurterers. They were instructing, laughing, joking, wondering, warning, planing, and just flat out playing.
This is the kind of stuff I remember doing as a kid, and I miss it so much for ours. Getting a group of kids together, watching them build relationships, learning and laughing with each other, it is truly a joy to me, and I am thankful for you all! ♥

Look what I found at $Tree today! Owen-sized trash grabbers! 🙀
Thank you students and parents for a fun semester! I am very proud of each of you who participated. Over the past 16 weeks, you all have logged a total of 249 MILES at Regency Park! Congratulations!
Enjoy your winter break, and I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces when we begin our spring semester!
This semester has gone by very fast! We have two more meetups, Dec. 2nd and Dec. 9th.
At the last meetup on Dec. 9 I will tally up the total miles for each student and they will receive their certificate!
The spring semester starts January 13. Individual events are posted under the 'events' tab.
NOTE THE TIME CHANGE FOR SPRING 2021! 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Jogging Club for this week (Sept. 16) is cancelled due to the tropical storm. Please plan to join us for our next meetup on Sept. 23. Mr. Robert Bender, County Commissioner District 4, will be our special guest that day. He is excited to thank our group in person for helping to keep the park clean and nice by picking up trash.

Update: Mr. Robert Bender, District 4 County Commissioner, plans to attend our meetup on Wed. Sept. 23.
Great job today! Not only were the students eager to get their laps done, but they also were a big help picking up trash in and around the park... 3 pounds of light weight trash all picked up and in the trash can where it belongs.
I sent this picture and info to District 4 County Commissioner Robert Bender. He responded to say he was very pleased with and proud of the kids for taking an interest in leaving the park better than they found it. He would like to thank the kids in person, and plans to stop by soon for a visit! 😃
I am looking forward to our first meeting of the semester, this Wed., Aug. 19, starting promptly at 10:00 a.m.! Bring your own supply of water to drink. If you want a designated place to sit, bring your own chair. I do not plan to wear a mask personally. You and your student/s are welcome to make your own choice regarding wearing a mask. Remember to check the 'events' tab of this page and check 'going' for the dates you wish to attend. This way, if I need to cancel a meeting or reach out to you, I can do so through the individual event.
