Recap of the Fall Field Training Exercise from this weekend! Our cadets teamed up with the University of South Alabama cadets for their field training. They took on obstacle courses, practiced land navigation, and ran missions, showcasing remarkable camaraderie and determination. Saturday, 16 September 2023 UWF Army ROTC Argonaut Battalion hosted its annual UWF JROTC Argonaut Challenge. Nearly 300 JROTC cadets from Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi competed in the rigorous, physical challenge with Theodore H.S. from Alabama taking the top honors, followed closely by Navarre and Pace H.S. from Florida. Today, the Argonaut Battalion Ranger Challenge Team led by the Battalion Commander Cadet Sejas, competed in the Brigade Ranger Challenge Competition with unwavering determination. Despite the discomfort and pain, their resilience paid off, securing them a spot in the top 10. Congratulations to them for coming 6th out of the 39 schools that competed. Onward to Phase 2!

On this day, 22 years ago, we honor all the innocent and courageous souls who tragically lost their lives. This morning, our cadets paid tribute to the fallen and their families by participating in the 9/11 Memorial Run, hosted by the 7th Special Forces Group, in remembrance of these brave Americans. We will never forget the sacrifices and lives lost on 9/11.

The Argonaut Battalion embarked on their first land navigation exercise for the fall semester. Beginning with the crucial lessons on map reading, protractor use, and compass navigation in the classroom, they smoothly transitioned into the wood line. The MSIIIs partnered with the MSIs and MSIIs to find their points as a team. This collaborative effort allowed them to share their knowledge and put their learning to the test. From the lab, our Argonaut Battalion cadets not only refined their individual skills but also successfully applied their knowledge in a real-world setting.

Cadet Bolsen is a Green to Gold Cadet. He was an X-ray Tech as an enlisted soldier before joining UWF ROTC. He is excited to develop his leadership skills as our XO.
He is a general studies major aiming to branch into the Medical Service Corp.
Cadet Bolsen joined the ROTC program to further his career and hopes to challenge himself with new leadership opportunities in Army medicine.

Cadet Sejas is one of our Green to Gold Cadets, a prior service Special Forces Sergeant. He is a general studies major, aiming to branch into either Medical Service Corp or Engineering.

Cadet Sejas joined the ROTC program to further his career in the Army and lead by example for his soldiers.
