On this Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the selflessness and dedication of all our veterans, including our owner Russell Dill pictured here in Afghanistan. Your service is an inspiration to us all! 🇺🇸

Um. Yeah. That happened. Have you ever seen a stainless steel blade of a prop curl up like a burrito? So it turns out the aft prop has been refinished 3 times and the fwd prop has been refinished twice. Maybe one of those was on my watch but not all of them. Needless to say they were paper thin when this happened. The crazy part is we were pulling off of the beach (after the Clemson game) when we ran aground. Probably about 20 yards off the beach and bam! We hit so hard it turned the boat off!
I trimmed her up, took a look, shook my head, and said “well we’ve got to get home”. The vibration was scary but she planned out and got us home. We average 180 hours per summer. If you’re going to be out there, things like this are going to happen. $1,600 worth of props! You have to pay to play.

I want to give “Props” to Singleton Marine for helping a brother out and allowing my family and I to extend our boating season a few more weeks before the real cold gets here. I damaged my props a few weeks ago leaving a Clemson game. I’ll post those next. Stay tuned…

It’s been a while since I’ve done a full paint (gelcoat) job. I forgot how much sanding and buffing is involved but the results still put a smile on my face. The black pinstripe is just electrical tape for now. The customer is coming by tomorrow to check on the progress and I wanted him to see what it will eventually look like. Still have a lot of fine tuning to do.
This one also has a full composite stringer and deck rebuild!

My wife has been bugging me about flipping some of these boats I’ve purchased recently. Well honey I hope this makes you happy!

Back to the grind. This is a 1968 Correct Craft. It’s done I a beautiful burnt orange. Very, very close to correct Clemson colors and rare for that time period. Unfortunately the deck can’t be saved and the hull has some “character “. I’m going to be redoing the deck in bright white gelcoat and polishing the hull as much as humanly possible. Stay tuned. 318 Chrysler. All composite deck and stringer. 🤔

The “Off Season”. There are 3 skis, a 27’ Hallet, 1990 Nautique (full restoration), and an Efoil in the shop. Time to grind!

This one just came in. Unfortunately this is a fairly common problem. We fixed 2 last year and this is the first for 2023. Coming in hot is never a good idea. Slow down!
I’ll post more of the progress next week.
