It's been a wild ride!
I had the opportunity to take over our Pelham High School Varsity Softball Program in 2008. I was 27 years old. I was full of ambition and thought that I could turn a program around in a year.
I was humbled and woken up by the end of the season. I realized, this is something that can't be changed overnight. Let's just push to get a little better, establish rules, standards, and a philosophy for our program. That is what I did. Over the next few years, we improved and became a very respected softball team. We gradually grew stronger. In 2011, we got a very talented group of players. They exploded! In 2014, for only the second time (I believe) in our PHS Softball Program's history, we made the State Semi-Finals.
I was such a proud Coach, and so happy to see our players succeeding and getting so close to a State Title game.
After 2014, our program was officially established as a team that no one was looking forward to playing.
We moved back up to Division 2 in 2017, and had the most remarkable and unforgettable year that I have ever had, 14-4!!! It ended abruptly, with a 4-3 loss in the Quarter Finals, but undoubtedly, may be the best team in PHS Softball history.
I cried after our loss that day. I sat alone in our dugout and just lost it. I felt so bad for our girls. It broke my heart. We all thought that this was our year. But, as I sat there, I knew: it is nearly impossible to win a State Title. Everything has to go right, and you need a whole lot of luck to see it happen.
After 2017, we stayed competitive the rest of the way and teams knew that we can get you on that softball field any given day.
I am so proud of the athletes and families that have come through, accepting how our program worked and being supportive of it!
So many of you fine young ladies and awesome parents have stood by us and focused on what is best for our program. Thank you!
These 17 seasons are something that I will cherish for eternity. They are a part of my life that I will never regret. I feel that I have helped our PHS Softball athletes grow into fine young women, and I will hold my head high believing that.
Thank you to all of you that have supported our program and have supported me.
You will never know how much that it has truly meant to me.
I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life, but will always love every moment that I spent on our PHS Softball Field.
I am a Python, forever!
Thank you and I love you all!

One last time,
Coach Lozeau
