Laundry Warehouse was proud to support the 24th Annual Hoops to End Homelessness basketball classic at the Thomas G Dunn sports centre, Elizabeth, New Jersey earlier this month.

The event was in aid of the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless and in particular its Operation Warm Heart Program that provides shelter to the street-bound homeless who may have nowhere else to turn during the winter months.

It was a fun night of exciting basketball with six local teams competing, cheered on by the Elizabeth High School band and cheerleaders. Check out the link for the scores!

February 3 was another night of exciting basketball when six, local teams paired off to compete in the 24th Annual Hoops to End Homelessness. The event benefits the Elizabeth Coalition’s programs, in particular its Operation Warm Heart Program, a winter shelter program for the chronically homeless. Two teams of Union County Sheriff’s Officers were equally matched for a final score of 36 to 34. Elizabeth High School Lady Minutemen were victorious over Newark’s North 13th Technical School 28 to 7, Elizabeth High School Minutemen lost to their neighbors St. Mary’s High School, 75 to 51. The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless thanks everyone who made the event a success: the players, the Elizabeth Public Schools band and cheerleaders, the Veterans’ Color Guard Cranford Post 335, volunteers, a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem by Guliana Viera, and all who supported us in our ad journal or who donated. We couldn’t have done it without you.
