Students at International HS enjoyed some healthy snacks on Dec. 9 at a workshop geared toward teaching them how to REPLACE some of their unhealthy snacks with healthy alternatives.

Students at Dr. Frank Napier, Jr. School of Science and Technology #4 were encouraged to drink more water at a “Rethink Your Drink!” event on Nov. 18
Students created their own water bottles, were taught the importance of hydration, and instructed in ways of keeping hydrated.

Students at Al Moody Academy were able to pick out new glasses during Optical Day on Nov. 24! Treatment Coordinator, Diana Claudio, was pleased to announce that 16 students were serviced with an exam and new glasses!

Students at Rev. Dr. Frank Napier, Jr. School of Science and Technology GOT MOVING during a yoga session on Nov. 25. Following instructions by yoga instructor Ms. Joanna Hanrahan, they learned the importance of “belly” breathing and meditation to help them calm down, to ground, and to simply take a moment to themselves.

Students received certificates of congratulation at Rev. Dr. Frank Napier, Jr. School after completing a 4 week nutrition program. They are now well equipped to tackle healthy eating inside and outside of school!
As a special bonus, students also received their own bell pepper plants to take home, take care of, and watch grow. The seeds from these plants came from the very peppers students had taste tested in week 2 of the nutrition program!

Students at Rev. Dr. Frank Napier, Jr. School of Science and Technology learned the fundamentals of MyPlate and the importance of food groups at a "MyPlate" event on November 3.
Considering the health qualities of fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, and grains, students were able to identify foods and place them in the correct group after the lesson.

A Harvest Fest event at School 10 was enjoyed by both parents and students on Oct. 30, as all loved the autumn treats and important information regarding FSCS health clinics. According to Treatment Coordinator, Maria Ruiz, parents were happy to hear about services FSCS provides, especially since so many parents work and sometimes find it difficult to take their children to a doctor.
