If you’ve been following along the last few days, you’ve seen my recent trip to San Luis Obispo via the Pacific Surfliner. 🚆 Pacific Surfliner Visit San Luis Obispo
With three daily trips between Los Angeles and SLO, it’s one of the easiest ways to visit one of my favorite California weekend getaways. Skip the traffic and enjoy ocean views, Wi-Fi, a café car, and plenty of room to relax along the way.
Once we arrived, we spent 48 hours exploring downtown SLO without a car, staying at , eating our way through town, shopping local boutiques, walking along San Luis Creek, and ending the trip at the famous Thursday Farmers’ Market.
It’s a quick getaway I’ll definitely be doing more and I hope a trip you’ll think about doing soon!

We took the Pacific Surfliner to San Luis Obispo and spent the weekend exploring one of California’s most walkable downtowns with no car required. 🚆
Even though it rained nearly the entire trip, we still managed to pack a lot into 48 hours!

One of my favorite things about San Luis Obispo is how easy it is to explore once you arrive. Great food, local shops, walkable streets, and everything just steps from the train station.

Before you road trip to San Luis Obispo, hear me out: take the train instead. 🚆
The Pacific Surfliner now has three daily trips between Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo, making one of my favorite California getaways even easier to reach!
The ride takes about 5 hours and trades traffic for ocean views, Wi-Fi, power outlets, a café car, and plenty of room to stretch out. Once you arrive, you’re just steps from downtown San Luis Obispo’s hotels, restaurants, shops, and attractions.
🎟️ Coach fares start around $54 one-way*
💺 Business Class upgrades are typically an additional $10–$35 each way and include guaranteed seating plus complimentary snacks and drinks.
Stay tuned for Part 2 where I’ll share exactly how we spent a car-free weekend in San Luis Obispo!

How we spent the perfect weekend in Temecula Wine Country 🍷
Stayed at Ponte Vineyard Inn, spent the day wine tasting between some of Temecula’s best wineries, rode through the vineyards in a vintage sidecar, and ended the nights with wine and sunset views overlooking the vines.
If you’re planning a Temecula trip, here are a few spots worth adding to your list:
• Ponte Vineyard Inn
• Altisima Winery
• Doffo Winery
• Oak Mountain Winery + The Cave Café
• Cielo Balloons
• Sidecar Tours .co
Temecula honestly feels like one of the easiest weekend getaways from LA when you want good wine, beautiful scenery, and a slower pace for a few days!
Drink responsibly and if you’re going with a group, definitely look into Grapeline Wine Tours.
