In particular, Helen from Coatesville Youth Initiative and Ajene from Coatesville Parks and Recreation Commission. Taking a bus load of kids to Walmart for a festive day of shopping is no easy task. There were many individuals and organizations that played an important part in making the program special and memorable for our youth.
Again, this year, we partnered with Hope Beyond Borders and Coatesville Kids to College. We thank Olivet United Methodist Church for the use of their beautiful church for breakfast and photos with Santa. Donations of food came from Wawa (Thorndale) and Chick-fil-A (Downingtown). We thank Krapf School Bus for providing a school bus for transportation and a joyful, safe driver. We thank Walmart Parkesburg for their assistance with staffing, supplies, register operation and a generous donation. We thank the many ‘elves’ in the back of Walmart that wrapped each package with great care.
The greeters, chaperones, wrappers and runners included volunteers from our community, Witmer Public Safety, The City of Coatesville, Coatesville Parks & Recreation, Coatesville Area School District, Coatesville Kids To College, Hope Beyond Borders, Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., Safe Kids Chester County, Chester County Highway Safety Project, Nth Solutions, Coatesville Youth Initiative, H2O Connected and City of Coatesville Police Department.
We were fortunate to receive generous donations from Witmer Public Safety Group, Coatesville Police Union, The Alliance for Health Equity, Vetrielectrical, Priority Greens, Kings Highway Elementary Staff Association, The Ollis Family, Brickside Bar & Grille, Suburban Brewing Co., The Yoast Famly, The Radziviliuk Family, The Brown Family, The Smith Family and a variety of anonymous donors.
We acknowledge and thank the officers from the following law enforcement agencies that volunteered to serve as shopping escorts/product consultants/financial advisors and most importantly, positive role models/mentors:
