I hope everyone is doing ok out there in these trying times. I think just "hanging in there" is good enough given the circumstances, and if you are lucky enough to be able to say that, then I think you deserve a pat on the back. I'd say "hanging in there" is about the best I can offer to you as to how I am doing/feeling.
It is a strange time to be a performer/artist/musician or even just a human, I suppose. It certainly has been a few months of reflection and reevaluation of just what the heck I am doing, and why. I struggle with it sometimes, but in the end, creating and performing will always be it's own reward, and there is just no quantifying the good that it brings my soul. Even in the most uncertain times, music can bring the performer or listener peace of mind; or maybe help us cope, deal or offer new insights to the world around us. All this is to say, I am keepin' on keepin' on and I suppose I will until they bury me 'neath the clover.
I am being pretty cautious about putting myself out there at this time, and have had to say "no" to more things than I would like. However, I am playing a solo acoustic gig this Sunday July 19th at 4:30 pm (until 7:30 pm) in Waterloo, IL at Vintage Wine Bar (event in the comments) and August 1st at Grown & Gathered Heirloom Farm Farmers Market at 9:30 am (until 11:30 am). Both are outdoor gigs.
Also, don't be surprised if you see me, or Cheryl and I, pop up with another live stream sometime in the not distant future.
Other than solo acoustic, or maybe duo performances with Cheryl, I am not participating in any band projects at this time. It hurts me to say this. I love my bandmates and the bands I play with and hope we can all get back in action sooner rather than later.
I did release a single a month ago w/ band called "City of Blues". Please check it out anywhere you find your digital music (Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music, etc...) under Cree Rider, or just visit my website (link in the comments). I have three other tracks mostly recorded from 2019 that I will continue to work on and will hopefully see release this year.
Let's be kind and understanding of one another, and help each other out when we can. Let's support our neighbors and communities around us who are calling out for our support. Let's be strong and weather this unprecedented storm that is 2020, and let's make it through to the other side together, as one. Yes, I am a dreamer.
Peace,
Cree

Aria Thomé & I put on our first collaborative, sound healing lunch today, and the group was so small, I prep cooked myself into a position where I could partake in the sound healing. This was so amazing: my heart was beating like a human’s not a birds, my busy mind settled, and I was given a great amount of healing, Aria just gives you space and sound to regroup and heal, all you have to do is breathe.😅 More to come. Thank you Aria and thank you to those that braved the snow! Heyo

Turnips💜 Chinese Medicine prescribes eating turnips to clear excess static heat, remove heat toxins, clear digestive stagnation, remove accumulated phlegm, and stimulate body fluids. The cooling effect is especially beneficial to the respiratory, immune and digestive functions and results in an increase in Qi and blood circulation. So, here I go, clearing out my static heat, and all that. Oh winter, here you come and I love your cold silence, for like, 3 whole days. The only good thing about winter, is FIRE.

Some days, I just don’t leave the kitchen; today is going to be one of those days, I can feel it.

With all the high-winds you might notice sticks that look like they’re growing hair. That hair’ is Usnea (also known as old mans beard). It’s a lichen and an immune system stimulant. I often find branches covered in it, laying on the forest floor after rain storms. It's amazing in the treatment of the strep and staph infections, as well as fungal infections (internal or external), pneumonia, athletes foot and ringworm.

Home grown loofah, luffa, lalalas! Takes forever to process these suckers!! (That’s why it was the first thing on Jaspers list today!)😅

Loofahs 1, Noelle 0
Inside the loofah tunnel, wearing a hat with blind spots, stopping to photograph a loofah’s cute lil b***y sitting on the fence(see photo 2);my guard was down, leading to injury…it could’ve been worse. There was a whole gang, like 20, the size of my arms and legs!!

Farm to table👩🏻🌾👩🏻🍳 The menu for the yoga event today: upon arrival, roasted rosemary pecans with cayenne, followed by a curry coconut butternut squash bisque, garnished with feta, cilantro, nasturtium, chive blossoms, served with a Gouda herb topped focaccia. The main course was fried rosemary polenta atop a heirloom tomato white bean sauce, topped with Parmesan, and fresh basil. The salad was a bed of mixed greens in a champagne vinaigrette topped with:asparagus, shredded fresh beets, colorful carrots and radish, pickled red onion and red bell peppers, heirloom tomatoes, goat cheese, and toasted pepitas. The dessert was a maple white chocolate cheesecake with a graham pecan crust, topped with a creamy layer of pumpkin, whipped cream, and fresh pears.
