Nested Story

Today we celebrated our graduating seniors at Nested Story. The ladies got to see them all dressed up in their cap and gowns and we enjoyed cake and some wise words of wisdom ….. like…

“Be true to yourself”
“Remember where you came from and remember God too”
“Work hard.. and play some too”
“Stay sharp”
“Don’t change who you are for anyone”
“Come back and visit us often.. we will miss you”

These young women have been a true blessing to us at Nested Story and we are so proud of them and cannot wait to hear about all the things they accomplish. So much so, that we are adding a monthly FaceTime college check in call to the calendar with the ladies.

Good luck ladies! We wish you all the best and are praying for you always.

Today we celebrate an extraordinary woman and an incredible milestone — 104 years of life, love, wisdom, and memories. At Nested Story, we are honored to share in the joy of her special day and the stories that make her so remarkable. Her strength, kindness, and beautiful spirit continue to inspire everyone around her. Please join us in wishing her the happiest of birthdays as we celebrate a life so richly lived and deeply loved. Oui Oui …….We traveled to France this month for our “Storied Table” and enjoyed some chicken coq a vin, ratatouille, and a homemade crème brûlée for dessert. We transformed our dining room into a French cafe and the ladies enjoyed it.

Nested Story keeps our ladies active with purposeful activities, meaningful moments, and connections with staff and each other. Purpose and meaning is what makes life worth living and gives a reason to wake up every day. Our ladies have friendships that last and it’s really so special to hear how much they love each other and look after each other. I describe the community like “The Golden Girls without the cheesecake” and these pictures show just a little peek at some of the activities that our ladies get to enjoy. Truly person-centered and tailored to their individual needs and abilities.

On National Peach Cobbler day you must make one of your own… and that’s just what our ladies did. They were barely out of the oven before they were enjoying their homemade cobbler. We even made more the next day, at their request.

Sunshine, laughter, and sweet memories filled our day as the ladies of Nested Story enjoyed a beautiful picnic together. From delicious treats and fresh air to heartfelt conversations and shared smiles, every moment was a reminder that joy is often found in the simple things. Watching friendships grow and seeing each lady light up in the outdoors makes these moments so special. Days like today are what memories are made of—full of warmth, connection, and love.

It’s very rare that I get to snap a photo with all of these ladies together but it represents more than some smiles… this picture is representative of some of our favorite community partners that keep Nested Story running smooth. Taking care of our ladies requires a lot of collaboration and heart and thinking on your feet at times and these two community partners keep our ladies healthy and thriving and out of the hospital and allow them to live their best life. We wouldn’t be able to provide the exceptional care we do without them.

Sara Allen APRN visits our ladies regularly and is always a phone call away if we have an urgent need. She truly cares and it shows. She is conscientious and listens and is such an advocate for doing what’s right by our ladies all the time. She treats them like family and will do whatever it takes.. We love her and appreciate all she does for us.

Mederi Caretenders Hospice is also amazing and one of our favorite partners because they do whatever it takes to ensure every patient is seen and heard and taken care of. What you don’t know about this photo, is that it was a Saturday afternoon.. because of an unusually busy week or due to staffing challenges, the Executive Director and team manager, both of which are nurses, make community calls and visit patients and even do showers or whatever is needed for their patients. This is rare in our industry and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Providing care to residents in assisted living can be challenging and hard at times and it really comes down to
Who you have in your corner and who you can depend on… you want consistency, good professional relationships, and always putting the patients first and these two partnerships do just that and I couldn’t waste an opportunity to shout out our appreciation.

Our ladies colored some beautiful eggs this week. Some used the traditional egg dye method and some used markers but they turned out so great! Memories were truly made and that’s what it’s all about.

Time spent with family and each other is the best way to celebrate a holiday. We shared an amazing Easter brunch complete with an egg hunt with eggs filled with bingo money and scratch off tickets. It was such a memorable and fun day.
