Did you know that tuna literally cannot stop swimming? Unlike most fish, they lack the ability to pump water over their gills and must constantly swim with their mouths open just to breathe. These top ocean predators are vital to marine ecosystems.

Atlantic tunas are also built for speed! With torpedo-shaped bodies, species like the albacore can race through the water at more than 50 miles per hour. Even cooler: Bluefin tunas are warm-blooded, which gives them the muscular power to thrive and hunt in both arctic and tropical waters.

Heading to the beach this weekend?

A Beach Hazards Statement goes into effect at 11AM today and remains in effect through Sunday evening due to an increased risk of sneaker waves and rip currents. Stay aware of marine conditions and never turn your back on the ocean.

Warmer days are ahead! ☀️

A warming trend will continue through the end of the week as high pressure builds over the region. Expect temperatures to peak on Thursday and Friday, with inland spots like Cloverdale, Concord, and King City reaching into the low-to-mid 80s. Coastal areas will remain comfortably in the 60s.

Enjoy the sunshine while it last! A return to cooler, unsettled conditions is expected by Saturday and into early next week as a weather system moves back into the area.

Plan your week accordingly!
