2009 (Mavericks)- First wave on a new board, a board that I designed with Shawn Rhodes. I wanted to lower the nose rocker a few inches to help with paddling and getting in early.
At this point in time I was not exactly stoked on my decision, but I did make the wave.

Words can't describe how stoked I am to be considered amongst the rest of these athletes. It has been a dream of mine for a long time to compete out at Mavericks, but even if the contest didn't exist I would still be just as excited to have this wave in my back yard!

Titans of Mavericks Titans of Mavericks is the big wave surfing event, destination and brand in Northern California. It's located in Half Moon Bay, CA.
