If you are a volunteer and CAN'T make tonight's meeting, there is another one on SUNDAY JAN. 21 at 2:00 PM.
When you love something—really love something—you probably talk about it a lot. But if that’s true, why is talking about God so difficult?
The truth is, talking about God doesn’t have to make us nervous or awkward. This week, we’ll see that when it comes to talking about God, we already have all we need to help both ourselves and others know Him more.
We believe God loves every one of us. Learn. Include. Bless.
That’s why we’re a No Matter church—no matter who you are, where you’ve been, what you’ve done or what’s been done to you, God loves you, and you can always look for God here.

Tenth grader Selah Hadley took a step of faith and traveled to Guatemala on a PLC global trip last November:
"My missions trip to Canilla showed me what it means to live in total faith and kindness. All the people I encountered in Guatemala are kind, generous, share all they have and truly live for Jesus. This trip changed the way I view life in many ways. I thought I was going to do so much good, help people and make an impact on others. When I arrived home, I realized just how much I got from the trip! I learned God’s timing is perfect in everything, and when I let go of my expectations and step out of my comfort zone, He is trustworthy and in control. Everyone should experience a trip like this. If God is calling you, I encourage you to go; you won’t regret it!"
–Selah Hadley

PLC’s Response to the Ukraine Crisis 🇺🇦
Prairie Lakes Osage, you can give safely and securely through our partners to help with relief in the Ukraine. Watch this short video, and see below.

Choosing to stop one of the most regular, nearly subconscious parts of our day places us in a position to receive a sobering awareness of our limitations and dependency on God. As you fast from food this week, don’t be surprised if you find things that surprise, frustrate or embarrass you. Let it be a reminder of the gift we have in God’s active presence and grace.

When someone asks me about my experience in Kahuria, Kenya it’s difficult for me to put it into words because it’s simply inexplainable and a joy that I want everyone to experience. Saying "yes" to walking alongside the Kenyan community of Kahuria allowed me to witness what I like to call "a little piece of heaven." I arrived as a visitor and left with relationships that I now get the pleasure to call “family.” I can’t wait to reunite with them again. To anyone who thinks this may be their next step, just say yes. God will work through you and it will impact you forever.
-Brooke Harrington (2021 trip participant)
We'll be back in Kahuria, Kenya, July 7-16. Learn more and apply at prairielakeschurch.org/missions/global/

Weekend | Prairie Lakes Church
It can be hard to think of Lent as a gift. Designed as a time for fasting and self-denial, it can easily become a season where we allow ourselves to become too passive or legalistic. Over the next six weeks, we’ll learn how to narrow our focus so we can empty ourselves of lesser things so we can be filled with the greater things of the Gospel. Join us this weekend as we begin preparing for the joy of Resurrection with the gift of freedom. Visit prairielakeschurch.org/weekend for service times.

We get to step across the Faith Line for free because Jesus paid it all. But we get to follow Jesus only when we plan to give it all. So, let’s make some plans!
To help apply your learning, opportunities and convictions from this series, download PLC’s Personal Leadership Development tool and spend at least 15-30 minutes crafting a plan to clarify and support where God is uniquely calling you to invest over the next 90 days. Visit prairielakes.org/PDP

Jesus isn’t after just certain days or aspects of our lives when we choose to follow Him. He wants to own, develop and redeem every part of it. And sometimes, we can fool ourselves into believing we’re following His plan when we’re just saying that we are.
When we take the courage to ask ourselves whose plan we’re really following, it may come with some conviction. But it will also bring the clarity we need to surrender again, receive God’s grace and invite Him to help us.

Dieting, budgeting, exercising, and house projects. What do these things have in common? They’re great to learn and dream about, but often stall or fail if we don’t make a plan for them. After four weeks of learning about how God is calling us to take risks with Kingdom opportunities, we’ll be making a plan to actually do something about it. Visit the link in our profile for service times. Visit prairielakeschurch.org/weekend for service times.

During Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, He calls His followers to be light. The kind of people who radiate God’s love out into the world and guide people along the right path. The evidence of our love for others should be so obviously motivated by our love for God that people praise Him as a result.
How is your platform radiating this light in your Little Iowa?
Your Credibility Is Built In The Quiet Place
Though we might try, we can’t give what we don't have. The only way we can radiate God’s light from our platform is by starting in quiet with God. When we consistently place ourselves in the presence of God, He speaks, works on us and fills us up to influence our Little Iowa with His grace and truth. What quiet rhythms can you begin to establish yet this week?

God has gifted all of us with a platform. No matter the size, scope or scale, we have people who are listening and watching us. While it’s a gift to know our actions and reactions matter, we have a responsibility to steward this gift of influence well. Capitalize on the existing opportunities and the unique ways God has wired you to influence others for His Kingdom.

Prairie Lakes Church partners with The 410 Bridge to walk alongside the Kenyan community of Kahuria. The goal of the 410 Bridge is holistic, Christ-centered community development, in order to accomplish this we may take part in multiple projects based on the community’s needs. This may include meeting with the Leadership Council, community members and school children. The team will be participating in a community project in the areas of water, education, economics, health and discipleship. Our next mission trip is July 7-16. Learn more and apply at prairielakes.org/missions.

4/5 Graders are having an amazing time at Winter Blast!!!

God has called to use the gifts He’s blessed us with to bless others. If we allow our stuff to control our lives, we take the risk of its influence distorting our hearts to become more possessive, controlling, isolated and less of who God truly intended us to be.

Worth The Risk: Property
Jesus tells us we cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). When we keep our money and property to ourselves, we can become so possessive and inwardly focused that anything competing with these resources becomes a threat. And it will isolate us.
When we take the risk to be Kingdom-minded with our stuff, we place our hearts in a position to grow in trust, attachment and commitment to God’s mission and people. 🖥️ Full sermon: prairielakes.org/sermons

Can risking your property really make life more enjoyable? 🤔 We’ll prove it this weekend as we learn how to be Kingdom-minded with our stuff. Visit prairielakeschurch.org/weekend for service times.
