Why Hand-Tied wefts?

Hand-tied wefts are much thinner, larger, and lighter than typical wefts. This “thinness” lets the hair lay flatter against your head, giving a more natural look. The wefts are larger and cover more area, so less has to be sewn in, easing your natural hair from heavy extensions that pull on your scalp.

What is a hair weft? Hair wefts are a grouping of hair strands woven into a fine strip of cloth and can vary in width.

The detailed process is ideal for those looking to add more volume and length that looks natural without putting too much tension on the scalp or hair.

When I first decided to specifically specialize in Hair Extensions I did a lot of research. I have always had to put a lot of effort into making mu hair look FULL and THICK. I have naturally fine hair and thankfully, it’s easy for me to style my hair to make it appear thicker. Hair Extensions didn’t sound appealing to me since I always could tell someone had extensions in. When I realized there are ways to get extensions and enhance my own hair while not allowing my “new hair” to be seen- I had to have it! I have been wearing extensions since 2005! All the different kinds- from glue, tape, sew in, braided, beaded and clip ins!

I have learned that the most important things to hair extensions are: stylists expertise, quality of hair, color match and the finish cut!

As you can tell on my sweet friend that her extensions are hidden! A little secret, this little style was done behind an hold grocery store and with one pony tail! I just twisted it and connected her pieces by tucking them in the pony tail! (Maybe I should do a little tutorial)

My point is, you can’t see her hair extensions! You have no idea where her real hair is, where her extensions start or stop! Babes, this is what extensions should look like!

Let’s chat if you have any questions regarding your extensions or your desire to get the one day (sooner than later)

NOT•ENOUGH

Hair extensions is a luxury service. It isn’t for someone who is always trying to find a cheap route or the best “deal” to achieve their hair dreams. It is definitely something you need to do your research on.

I have been seeing so many babes coming in for consultations and not happy with their current extensions. One of the biggest and most ongoing issues I have seen is there hasn’t been enough hair installed.

The more hair you need the higher the price of your service will be. Don’t be afraid of the price that your stylist is telling you, a lot of the cost is including hair.

HAIR is not a product- even thought the hair you can see isn’t made of living cells, your hair is very much a living thing before the hair has been cut…

What hair you allow to be installed on your head is super important. It’s important to know it isn’t the “cheapest” option. (Integrity of the hair matters)

If your going to extensions to create fullness, you don’t need a lot of hair installed. But, if your looking to change your length- you NEED a lot of hair to blend the ends. You shouldn’t see “stringy, piecey” ends at all. It should be full from the roots to the ends. Also, the thicker your hair naturally is, means you will NEED that much more hair extensions added to create the same fullness you have at your scalp to match your ends-

Babes- I am offering FREE appointments to talk, answer questions and to help you with all the hair extensions needs that you have!

Here are easy ways to make sure your new, beautiful extensions last as long as possible and look the same way they do when you leave your stylist :

• Always comb and brush extensions gently
• Treat extensions just like your real hair!
• Use professional, high grade styling products for longevity (my FAV is Oribe])
• Use a special extension shampoo and deep moisturizing, PH balance conditioner (when needed)
• I highly encourage Oribe] #royalblowout for adding shine, moisture and heat protection.
• Extension leave in spray is our special formula for conditioning and detangling extension hair
• Do not wash your hair 48 hours after application, give your extensions time to set!
• For real hair, always make sure to allot time for deep conditioning treatments if extensions are worn regularly

I am so thrilled of the feedback and messages I have been getting from you all!

@amber_elliott_real_estate is looking amazing with her new LOCKS! The color, cut and Instal is seamless!

COLOR matching is so important….

One of the questions I get most about hair extensions is, “How well will they blend in with my own hair?” No one wants hair extensions that LOOK like extensions! That’s why it’s so important to customize the color of your hair extensions! It takes a little extra time and effort, but it’s so, so worth it!

Here’s an example: if you’re naturally brunette but color your hair buttery blonde and want to add blonde extensions, you don’t want to just throw in some hair extensions that are fully blonde . Those roots would stand out so much! Plus, it would be even more noticeable if you wear your hair up in a pony tail…

Instead, you want a stylist who takes the time to color the roots of the extensions to match your own roots. That way, your hair looks natural, grows out beautifully, and can be worn in almost any style!

Let me know what other questions you have concerning extensions or how to get the most blended extensions ever! I’m waiting to hear from you!

Only ☝🏻 more month left of living with my natural fine hair …. Soon very soon I get the chance to sit in @hairextensionsbymarie and get some long locks installed!

While I’m stuck 🤪 with the FIVE hairs on my head I wanted to show you how I “fixed” my dirty, fine and crazy JEEP hair-

I am loving my @bedheadbytigi waver- I got to work early and added texture to my hair and then did a tiny (cause of the lack of fullness in my natural hair ) ponytail.

My daughter has been on a kick with adding these waves every morning before school, and let’s just say it’s been inspiring to me and I wanted to do it too!

While there are plenty of methods for getting beachy waves, it’s best to choose one that works with your hair type. (Or the the one that might be quickest to save time in the morning ) If you have very fine hair (like me… I know I’m not the only one out there that struggles with fine hair) , a texture/volume spray may be a great approach to try. I like @bumbleandbumble sea salt spray as well as @oribe new #oribetrèsset - When trying to achieve beach waves or any natural looking hair texture, the biggest mistake you can make is being afraid of making mistakes—Nothing should be too perfect or symmetrical. Don’t be afraid to try layering products either. I often use dry shampoo, dry texture spray, hairspray, and a pomade. Sometimes I like to mix using the waver as well as a curling iron to really create fullness and messiness!

Was this video helpful? Was it inspiring? Does it make you want to go add some texture to your hair? Go do it! Try it, send me your tips and tricks so I can share with other babes- send me a pic! Can’t wait to see all the textured hair! ✌🏻 happy Tuesday!

When people say extensions damage hair, it’s almost a guarantee that they have not dealt with a trained professional. Always have an experienced stylist apply your extensions, regardless of the type of extensions you choose.

Great Lengths unique bond is designed to mimic the structure of your natural hair. It is lightweight and flexible, allowing the extensions to work in harmony with your natural hair, never against it.

When it comes time for removal with @greatlengths_official , the bond is gently removed from the hair using a specially formulated gel, causing the bond to break down and be removed from the hair with ease.

Hair extensions are the best kept secret, along with eyelash extensions @happy_lashes_mo and micro bladed eyebrows @balance_esthetics . But with any natural beauty enhancer, you want to make sure your hair extensions look natural. Hair extensions should enhance your look and be the best kept secret. With the right pair of extensions no one will know you are wearing extensions-even if they feel your hair!

We have all seen someone whose hair extensions did not look real-and we never want to get caught with hair extensions that do not look natural!

You want to make sure you have enough hair extensions to match your own hair density. That means, if you have thick hair you will need a lot of extensions to match all of that hair you have. If you have thinner/finer hair you will need less hair. If you have short hair you will also need a lot of extensions as well. You need many layers to cover up your short layers. The first dead giveaway if someone if wearing extensions if if they do not have enough extensions in.

COLOR- You are not only matching extensions to your root, you are matching them to your ends. It’s the blend at the ROOTS that matter most- I prefer to use 1-3 colors for the perfect color blend. If the extension color does not match, this is usually a dead giveaway that you are wearing extensions. They should be customized to match your hair color.

Have you ever seen someone with obvious extensions? Do you say something to her , or do you just ignore and act like you don’t notice her weave? Let’s help another girl out if you see her extensions showing! Let her know, and know I’m here to answer any questions you have with extensions. Even if I’m not your stylist, I would love to consult with you on how to get your extensions to look even more REAL! Text me!

There are a lot of questions out there about what exactly hand tied extensions are. There are several different types of ways to install hand tied extensions, but first I want to educate you on the hair you actually are purchasing. It’s important when you invest in hair extensions to know what type of hair your actually getting installed on your head.
So……
What are hand-tied extensions?
Hand-tied hair extensions are just what the name implies: tied by hand. Due to this, they are able to be sewn onto a thinner weft.
Hand-tied extensions are virtually invisible, so you won't have to worry about the corners of the weft poking through your natural hair.

What are machine wefts?
Machine weft extensions are a collection of hair sewn together by a machine. The wefts themselves are thicker and weigh a bit more. Machine wefts can be cut because of how they are made-- making them more durable and sturdier.

Hand-tied Extension Pros
More fine and flexible
Although there are many types and brands of hand-tied extensions, they all vary in quality, durability, and craftsmanship. These types of extensions are one of a kind; they are exceptionally flexible and can be styled. Because they are sewn by hand, it allows the wefts to be extremely fine, making them able to conform to the natural curvature of your head. Hand tied extensions were made to be thin, comfortable, and subtle.

Get a more natural experience (seamless)
Hand-tied extensions, unlike machine weft, are thinner and barely visible. Because of this, they seamlessly blend into your natural hair.
These characteristics make hand-tied extensions the best choice when picking out hand tied vs machine west . Hand-tied extensions can be treated and maintained like your natural hair. They can be washed, straightened, or curled to blend with your hair.
